    94 shock question

Shocking question! Tom, Are you the original owner? Is it a Z07 optioned car? I'm thinking someone may have swapped the stock shocks for some stiffer Bilstien's for autocrossing or something and left them on the car when they sold it. Stock shocks were the yellow Bilstien's also, but a...

AUTO TRANS. fluid & filter change? or fluid flush?

I was wondering if the transmission fluid flush service that many transmission shops offer for around $100.00 is worth it over the usaual "fluid and filter change" they charge $40.00 for or you do it yourshelf in your garage. Seems like you leave a lot of fluid in the convertor and other parts...

Interested party Well...., srmrvette: Did you get it out and the new one installed??? I'm contemplating doing this to my 96 also (this winter) instead of taking it to the transmission shop. How difficult of a job is this?

    Tires

Tire choices I dumped my Goodyear GSC's......I thought they were good, Then.., I put on Firestone SZ50EP's and the differance was incredible :eek Run much quiter and have much more grip! Wet traction is second to none, I now autocross these tires on wet and dry tracks instead of switching...

    Throttle Body coolant bypass routing...

If you have the BALLS Hey, If you really want to torture yourshelf, Buy a C3 :eek Advantage with the C3's is alot of the parts are more reasonably priced (motor & drivetrain anyway) , but something is always squeeking, rattling, LEAKING, and of course requires dis-assembly to properly clean...

    cleaning whiteletters on tires

White Letters For quick touch-up's, try regular old lighter fluid on a clean, lint free cloth, but just wipe it on the white letters. Brighten's them right up! evaporates quickly! But for good deep cleanning the Westley's is my choice. but keep it off polished aluminum rims.

Another Brake Fluid Question for the Experts

Brake Fluid?? I to drive my 1980 only about 1,000 - 2,000 miles per year and decided to stay with normal brake fluid. I have had very good results and see no need to switch to silicone (save it for implants!) I do use Valvoline SynBlend DOT4 fluid, which is not silicone but just good quality...

    Roller rockers question?

Thanks! Hey, thanks for the info "Grumpyvette", I may have to try this over the winter. I need all the power I can get to stay ahead of my competition in NCCC autocrossing. By rules, I must run the G.M. LT4 rockers, will they work on a LT1 ? (removing drippers and thicker gasket included) Thanks,

1996 Z51 package, Stabilizer bar question??

Damm! 1984 Z51's only used 25mm solid in front and a 23mm solid in the rear. Must have made up the differnce in spring rates (rock hard). Biggest sway bars used were 30mm solids in front and 26mm solids in the rear. That will work for me! I really need to swap springs. But, I think a combo of...

1996 Z51 package, Stabilizer bar question??

Sway bars Dave, Check your diameter, or I'll research it further, you might be on to something. It says you can mix between 1984 and 1996 cars. VetteBrakes has a nice 32mm front and 26mm rear for my car at very reasonable prices like $129 each with bushings and end links! Stock FE3 (base...

Horn Button I assume you are talking about the horn button emblem? I have replaced my emblem in the horn button using "J B Weld" brand two-part epoxy (as advertised by Paul Harvey). Follow directions, clean mating surfaces very well, scuff with light sandpaper, and DO NOT use too much epoxy, It...
