    q-jet vacuum question

I just did, no problem. What you really have to adjust is idle wich will propably be a bit high, but it will not hurt to check timing also. My initial timing is now set to 12 or maybe 13 degrees and total is 32-33, as suggested by JohnZ and it runs better than ever. :beer

    q-jet vacuum question

Thanks, I will look into this. My distributor has a "Ignitor" breakerless conversion installed, but I guess that will make no difference.

    q-jet vacuum question

Thanks everybody. Pete, thanks, and yes those are Western Wheels Ok, I connected the distributor to manifold vacuum, but now I have som timing questions: Base timing is now set to 8 @ 900 rpm. According to my manual, maximum centrifugal advance is 20 @ 5000 rpm, and maximum vacuum advance is...

    q-jet vacuum question

Wait a minute - now I realize that ported is shut off at idle, i thought it was just lower all the way. But anyway, is there any reason NOT to connect the distributor to full manifold?

    q-jet vacuum question

Hi, My 74 hesitates a bit when i floor it, so I got ready to tune it yesterday. I started by checking the vacuum, connected the meter to manifold vacuum and the needle was steady at 18-19. So far so good. Then I checked the connection to the distributor, which I thought was hooked up to ported...

Help! Strong pull to the right..

Well, it seems like the hose is the problem, the caliper will not release the pressure, but when I open the bleeder, it does, just as Vetthead Mikey described. I tried to bleed the caliper, but that did not help. New hoses are on the way, but I will propably not get them until next week...

Help! Strong pull to the right..

Thanks for the input, I'll check that right away! :L I visit Aseda every now and then since I have a lot of contact with a company there with my job. Next time I will take time to visit one of the larger (In Sweden) Corvette dealers that are just nearby.

Help! Strong pull to the right..

Ok, I raised the car to do a first check on the brakes. Both calipers do brake, but it's hard to say if it brakes more on left side. But - when i release the pedal, the left side will not release completely, it takes a while for the pistons to go back so I can turn the wheel freely. Should I...

Help! Strong pull to the right..

Thanks for all input! I have rebuilt both front calipers a few years ago. Last year in may I did a state inspection where they measure brake resistance and left/right was completely even at that point, both front and rear. Then I got this problem at the end of last season (not that many miles...

Help! Strong pull to the right..

My car pulls to the right when i brake, even at very low speeds like a few mph. Camber and Caster are set (by me) and are correct, but I know that toe needs to be adjusted. However, I can't see that a wrong toe setting should make the car pull to one side?? Any suggestions?

    Question: Pace car spoiler

Milo30, Thanks for the info but this is the front spoiler, the 3-piece. I have bought a spoiler, but not seen it yet. I guess it will be obvious when I get the spoiler, but the question now is if I have to drill my front fenders.

    Question: Pace car spoiler

I'm about to buy a pace car spoiler (original, used) to put on my '74, but I'm a bit curious how the spoiler is fastened, especially in the top part on the sides. How does the original mount look? Do I have to drill right thru the fender, or should there be some kind of mounting bolt bonded to...

Best place to buy interior ?

Carpets are often made by ACC (http://www.accmats.com/). I think (but not sure) that Ecklers and Corvette Central sell ACC carpets. I bought my carpet from Wilcox, and if I remeber correct that one was from ACC too.

    uscorvettes

Anyone have experience with this company? The red 71 and 72 convertibels seems interesting to me, but the site doesn't even tell where the seller is located... Opinions? www.uscorvettes.com

    Steering box grease

Thanks for the replies. I have not assembled the parts yet, just cleaned everything up, but I will try to get to 0.002". Everything was in very good condition with no noticeable wear so I guess a rebuild wasn't really necessary, but how are you supposed to know? ;shrug

    Steering box grease

Hi, I'm just about to assemble my steering box. I will use a heat resistant Li-based grease, but how much should i put in there; just cover the moving parts, or fill up the entire box?? /Johan
