    Raise the rear

Mike, Yes I'm afraid your friends in Aseda are correct, lots of that white stuff here too. What is 'stock' height really? Here is a picture of my car. Couldn't find one directly from the side, but if you look closely it is definitely lower in the back. Darkshark, Nice. Yours seems to be...

    Raise the rear

Thanks for the advice. It's hard to know if the old spring is worn out or not. It's more or less flat with minimum arch, but isn't that's how it supposed to be? But if the spring bolt bushings are shot + that I have removed AC and other stuff from the front end, then there will be a difference...

    Raise the rear

John, The rear sits lower than the front. It seems simpler to raise the rear than to lower the front in order to get the car level, plus that when you consider the tire size compared to the fender it is obvious that the problem is in the back. (If one, like me, want an even spacing, I don't...

    Raise the rear

I need to raise my rear end a good 1". I know there are longer spring bolts out there, but what about shorter? Bolts with more threads would work as well, but I have only seen the longer type bolts with more threads, so that would put me back in square one. Or should I just make a 1" spacer?

    Ride height

I think the stance of my car looks a bit high in the front. I just measured the ride height, and it is 28,1 inches at the front and 26.9 inches in the back. Ok, the ride height depends of the wheels and tires of course, but do you guys have it higher in the front or the rear, or completely...

    caster/camber gauge

Thanks for the info and input! magoo, I don't understand the difference between the rim type and the spindle type attachment? Can the rear wheel alignment not be done with a spindle type attachment gauge? The gauge from Longacre are sold with either a screw on type adapter for the spindle, or a...

    caster/camber gauge

I want to by a simple caster/camber gauge to do my own wheel alignment (ok, the local wheel alignment shop have more advanced equipment, but since they don't seem to care much about my car, I figure I can do it better myself). So far I have only found this one from Longacre: Anyone have any...

    What is this?

Yes that was my first idea too, but that would not explain why there is a threaded brass fitting at the end of the hose...? I'll have to get back to my garage and look at the thing again.

    What is this?

Really??!!? I live on that street, just 75 meters from there, and I have my Vette in a garage in the back yard of the house just across the street from that restaurant!

    What is this?

The car was imported from Florida, so it's no special stuff for Sweden. There are also a bunch of cables (tail lights I think) that comes out through the same rubber grommet, just above the hose in the pic.

    What is this?

A short piece of hose with a fitting with two different threads. It's seems to come out of the batt compartment, and ends just in front of the fuel tank, above my left muffler. If the purpose is to evacuate the batt comp., then why the fitting with the threads? EDIT: Cant be out of the batt...

    Intake advice - exhaust crossover

I'm putting on a new Performer intake, and I noticed that the new gaskets are not cut for the exhaust crossover. Will I gain (or loose) anything by blocking off this? I assume I also have to add some sort of metal blockoff over the head opening, or the gaskets will just burn. If I add some piece...

    Ebay

I just bought a carpet set on Ebay from Wilcox Corvettes. Carpet is made by ACC, and some of the major vendors also sell ACC carpets, so in this case it was exactly the same quality but at a lower price. For example, when you buy something from Ecklers or Corvette Central, they will add the...

    Camaro seat belt installation.

Sorry, now I see that you have a convertible. On the coupe the belt goes through a loop on the side, just behind your head.

    Camaro seat belt installation.

joe1975, yes I got the rear (and front). 80convertible, Have you threaded yours thru the pillar post loop? I don't intend to open the retractor mechanism, but maybe it is worth the effort to open the buckle. Can the buckle be dismanteled, or do I need to open it at the end, and then stich it...

    Camaro seat belt installation.

I have bought a set of 3rd gen Camaro belts to put in my car. Ok, seems like a lot of folks have done this, but I have seen no pictures in any of the threads. My question is: What about the upper guide loops??? There's no way to get the new belt through them unless I open the seams and stich...

Found 74-77 NOS Seatbelts on Ebay!!!

Dave, does the rocker panel fit after the sidepipe install? The pipes are Hookers I guess? I think my wheels are the same, but they are black inside. /Johan

Found 74-77 NOS Seatbelts on Ebay!!!

Hey, do you by any chance have a side view photo of your car? It seems to look very similar to mine (74 red cpe with the same wheels), and I would like to get a good picture of how it would look with sidepipes. /Johan
