I believe those pipes were made by a company called "Side Effects". They are no longer in business.
With 150K miles on the car I suggest you change all the fluids, hoses and belts unless the seller provided service records that showed the work had recently been done.
I must really be getting old. I remember when the option list for a Corvette included 6 engine choices, 4 transmissions and about 5 rear axle ratios. A cup holder was a place to hang an athletic support. :D
Your best bet is either the "parts for sale" section of this or other forums, a swap meet or a Corvette salvage yard like Vette2Vette. (Surprisingly very few Corvettes roll over in an accident so a fiberglass top may be one of the few body panels to survive an accident).
I foud a brand new...
According to The Black Book only about 8,600 were ordered from the factory during the years they were offered, 1989 - 1996. That's less tha 20% of the convertibles built.
If you remember the courtroom scene from "My Cousin Vinnie" Marisa Tomei pointed out that a car with LSD could not spin the wheel on pavment and leave a burnout patch if the other wheel was on gravel.
Have you changed the coolant recently? They system has to be burped to remove all the air pockets. The system may look full when cool but as the car warms up the air pockets will rise to the expansion tank near the passenger side firewall. Check your owners manual for the proper procedure.
You might want to check with one of the salvage yards that specialize in Corvettes (like Vette2Vette). If they have a car with a hard top they should be able to sell you the top and all necessary hardware.
The mileage shown on the odometer is stored, I think, in the ECM (or one of the other computers), it's not stored in the odometer itself. Changing the dash shouldn't affect the odometer reading.
My 93 came with the OEM acrylic top when I bought it but I always wanted a solid, fiberglass top. I made the switch and am very happy. I don't intend to go back to an acrylic top but I've always heard good things about Melrose on this and other forums, while the general consensus has been to...
One solution for the seat covers is to go with cloth instead of leather. Much more comfortable in the heat. I think 93 was the last year cloth seats were available so it shouldn't be hard to find them.
If it's the waterpump you should see or be able to feel coolant dripping from the weep hole at the bottom of the housing. If it's the heater core (and good luck if it is) the leak will be inside. Check the carpet in the passenger's foot well. Another check is to turn on the defroster; if the...
There's your reason. These cars do put out a lot of torque and the ASR is meant to keep the tires from spinning. With it turned off you have to be very careful when you hit the throttle, especially if the road is wet.
