    Battery Issue

Merc596, A drained battery is something that was plaguing my 2006 for a while. It took me until just recently to ultimately get it scoped out, and in my case, it seems there was a Technical Service Bulletin out on it: I had a Remote Control Door Lock Module that was not turning itself off when...

    pics of my vette

Mr. C, Unfortunately, because of the software this forum uses, loading pictures into a message post is little more complicated than a simple copy and paste command. XLR8 (another of our moderators) has created a thread to explain how to upload pictures into your post directly from your...

    A Letter From Chevy

I find it odd, John, that in your condemnation of corporate greed, you left out completely any involvement of unions in this situation. Have you noticed that of the industries closest to the brink of bankruptcy (Airlines, Newspapers, Automobile Manufacturers), all of them have unions they have...

I think that when Top Gear airs in Britain, each episode is around 70 minutes, give or take. In order to fit it into an hour long time slot, they have to cut quite a bit out. When Top Gear Season 11 comes out on DVD as a box set, I'm tempted to buy it and see if that scene is still on there as...

    A Letter From Chevy

Even if I don't, writing that email and sending it was still worth it for me. I'm their customer, and I want them to know how disillusioned with GM's poor management decisions and the UAW's intransigence I've become.

    A Letter From Chevy

Update: my email to Mr. Peper (at least that's who I addressed it to. No telling who at that email address will actually get it.) has been sent. If I get a reply, I'll post it.

    Premium gas

I wish I had your options, Jane Ann. Chevron divested itself of it's Colorado holdings a decade ago, and Texaco was taken over by British Petroleum (BP) in 2002. BP and Phillips 66 were then taken over by Conoco. So we get a choice between Conoco and Shell as "top tier" brands of gasoline...

Actually, I had to type it into the post, so the typos are probably mine. :chuckle

    A Letter From Chevy

In the mail today, I got this letter from Chevrolet: Nice letter, but it's basically a marketing effort intended to stem the anticipated flow of customers away from GM when the coming bankruptcy scares people away from buying from GM anymore. I imagine recent purchasers of other GM makes have...

    Premium gas

So, your exhaust makes belching sounds, then? :L At least your not using any of Junkie's moonshine.

    New C4 Owner Here

Welcome to the CAC, Rick. Nice C4. :) You are correct, sir. There are no 'un-cool' Vettes, as I believe was demonstrated HERE and HERE. [SIZE=3][FONT=Comic Sans MS][COLOR=navy][SIZE=1][FONT=Verdana][SIZE=2][COLOR=black] You got it. Here's a wave for you, and for Rick: :w

    Premium gas

I only use Premium in my C6. In my part of the country, that's 91 Octane, rather than the 93 Octane you can get in points east of here. I've been told that you can use lower octane grades of unleaded, but you should be prepared for reduced engine performance, and likely some knocking. -Patrick

    Wil Cooksey in Motorcycle accident

Oh my God! My prayers go out for Wil and his family, he is one truly classy gentleman. I only had the honor to meet him once, when he visited us during Cruisefest 2006 in Bowling Green.

    Almost got a ticket

They are required in Colorado, and yet I have never used a front plate on any Corvette I've ever owned. It just looks wrong. There's only been one time I was pulled over for not having a front plate, and it happened in the fall of 2002, shortly after I got my first Corvette. The cop was a lady...

I remember seeing that on YouTube, and was a little disappointed it was cut from the version that was shown on BBC-America earlier this year. It was quite funny to see Hammond's reaction when he came out of the diner and found his Dodge Challenger was parked in traffic. Remember that this show...

New to Forum: C5 and C3 owner

It's not dead, Bill, but I've noticed that first time owners of Corvettes, if they buy the newest model available, don't tend to know about the tradition of the wave. My C6 is not my first Corvette, and I've known about the wave since long before I got my first Corvette. I always wave at any...

    Traction Control

Alvarof, I've copied some relevant sections from the 2006 Owner's Manual. We have a link to it at CAC: CLICK HERE. (It's a PDF document, so you'll need to have Adobe Reader installed to open it.) Here's what the owner's manual has to say about Active Handling: 2006 Owner's Manual, page 3-41...
