I agree- A friend if mine had the same problem with his '01 and had to replace the flasher. Not hard to do but time consuming because you have to take apart a good deal of the dashboard and console-It lives behind the hazard light button in the center of the dash!
Hi There,
Who is everyone using in Connecticut for service and or repair(clutch or anything else that may crop up) I do most of my own work but I couldn't handle a major repair if needed. Don't need anything right now but it's good to know in advance!
Thanks!
The Corvette Center on Day St. in Newington was always very good although my friend recently had his C5 repainted by the Chevrolet dealer in Waterbury
and they did an excellent job.
I put a set of Cooper Zeon sport A/S on my C5 coupe just before I left for Carlisle. Night and day over the Goodyear EMT. I use the car in a similar manner ie. cruising with my Corvette club , some spirited rides but certainly no competition. I'm VERY happy with this tire. It rides better, it's...
I had the a similar problem with mine however when the bracket cracked it stopped the seat from doing the annoying C5 rock and it didn't end up in a bad position so I left it alone!
I would try a shifter alignment first. Follow this link for directions http://rpmtransmissions.com/files/c5shiftlinkageadjustment.pdf
(RPM transmissions' website) if not, there is a possibility that the 3-4 shifter fork is worn-not uncommon. Again check out RPM'S site. they do a pretty resonable...
I installed the x pipe and a B&B bullet exhaust system myself. I will say that I have the benifit of being able to use my good friend's lift. Without the car in the air it could be a tedious job. Not imposible but I would not want to do it on the ground unless you think like one of the fellows...
Magnaflow and Borla talk about 8HP but I couldn't say for sure. My car was never on a dyno although it does seem to be more responsive low end.:upthumbs
Xpipe
Yes you are correct. That's why you'll see a HP increase with the addition of an Xpipe and because it "blends" the exhaust from both banks you get a little different tone!
We were in the center of town dodging tree limbs and road work signs. Not a good experience but luckily we came out unscathed ( and undamaged Corvettes)
I agree! I made an appointment to have mine done and I asked the service manager at the dealer how long it would take he told me that he wasn't sure
since this was the first one that they were doing. I cancelled my appointment!
C6 prodution
Spoke with a fellow at our Corvette club's monthly meeting last week. He said that he was able to tour the company that is making carbon fiber fenders for the ZO6 and he mentioned that they stated that their contract runs out in 2010. Do the math! I would expect there would be a...
This is easy to follow. Yes you have to remove the console. It looks daunting but it is actually pretty simple. Just remember that it is all plastic so just take your time and you wont have any problems!

This shows a hurst install but it's the same...
OK! I aligned the shifter today. Went thru the proceedure in the shop manual,
took it for a ride-same condition-would grind going into 5th.As I was driving and shifting without the counsul and with the shifter exposed it seemed that the shifter housing had alot of side to side movement. Went...
The same thing happened to my 98 when it was a couple of years old. The dealer said that there was a TSB on that problem and they replaced the sending unit and several other parts all under warranty. Everyone says that techron works really well to keep those components working properly-I use it...
I have a 98 coupe with a 6speed and stock shifter. Runs well and although I don't baby the car I don't hammer it either. Every once in a while when shifting from 4th to 5th if I push the shifter too hard or don't hit it just right it will grind alittle going into 5th. I read something about...
You can try this. A friend of mine bought it and mentioned that it was a good value. I haven't actually seen it but for the price it's hard to loose...
