Maybe I am not understanding the bolster. Could someone please clarify it for me? It was my understanding that the 2" Bolster was on the older style seats up to part of 78's and the 4" bolster on the newer style from 78 up. Each seat was a different style. Am I understanding this wrong and...
call up whichever company that you decide to use and talk to them. I am sure that their tech people will have that info for you. That's one of the selling points of their product, the weight reduction.
I picked up a chevy high performance mag today because they had an article on camshafts duration and lift explained. In there this same question was asked if I am reading it right. Here is a shortened answer that was given for this.
Testing cylinder heads on a flow bench, you are flowing tn...
I'm curious about the agreed value. I have had a problem with that before. The agreed value was not the same as what the insurance adjuster decided after an incident. They didn't mind taking payments for a vehicle insured at that amt but had a problem with paying off when it came time. It's...
I have a 78 in black and I love the shine that a good black paint job gets. It also seems to hide the little chips that you get a little better.
My wife has a super glossy red 96. It's a beautiful car but everyone has a red vette!
My old LT4 was silver. It was kind of a dull looking color...
They could fix that by putting in a side visor that came out as the window came down. Still beats getting in and out of the car with a long car door when the idiot parks too close to
A friend sent me this link. It's a pretty cool door too bad it can't really be used on the vette since the door is so long when you open it. Just thought you guys would enjoy seeing it.
A design like that if it were possible would eliminate burns from sidepipes LOL...
I moved from Texas to Chicago and all I owner was a 78 and a 96 LT4. I drove the 96 year round because I didn't have a choice. Got to watch the front spoiler in the snow though! I finally gave up and sold the 96 to get a 4X4 which was more practical. GUESS WHAT.......they gave me a transfer...
I have a 78 and the seats came with the cloth enlay. I really like them because it is so much cooler sitting on in the Summer. I can't find anyone that has replacement covers for them. It is either vinyl, leather-like or leather. I figure I'd have to go to an upholstery shop and have them...
I'm about 85% leaning towards an LS1 and tranny swap. How did you do it all for $1800? I figured the block and buildup would cost more than that. I am looking at some used ones out of a camaro so I can get the tranny and everything else. I can get almost get everything that I need minus the...
flowmasters
I love my flowmasters but they do give you a headache after awhile. In my car forget about listening to music or using a cell phone but I wouldn't trade them for anything else LOL.
RPMS
Well, probably my RPMs aren't that far from normal....just seems that way to me because my LT4 cruised 70 at something like 1200. I always worried about the 78 on the highway because it was so much higher since there was no OD. Kind of like trying to get used to the hot temp the C4 ran...
LS1
That was what I figured that I was going to hear. Right now my RPMs are crazy at 70 MPH and it will pop out of 2nd gear when you let off the gas. I would have to have the tranny rebuilt and I don't see any reason to put the money into it when I can go to OD and save the wear and tear on...
engine swap
I'm looking at the same thing for my 78. I haven't made decisions on anything yet but have a couple of posts out there and getting a few responses. Here are a couple of good places to start as far as a crate engine goes. I'm still looking for more and weighing the options.
