I've traveled a lot of miles east of the Mississippi over 55 years of driving and have never had an issue .What now makes me nervous is cell phone distraction and drugs .

The owners manual of my 69 /350/vert states 24 psi cold .I ran 28 without problems .Never got into nitrogen ,always felt it was a gimmick unless I was into HD track time .

I am a chronic speeder but my record is clean for two reasons first I've been incredibly lucky .Second I travel fast enough so it's usually reported as a UFO . I never speed in areas where pedestrians walk or school zones .:thumb I'm old and don't have much time to waste .

I look at automatics to be very beneficial to old people with bad knees ,hips and backs .I don't see a lot of Corvette owners below the age on 45 .I know there is more to it than just ability to drive manual but at age 70 I prefer to control my destiny .;)

One thing to keep in mind is leaving Ohio in January be aware of your tires .I drive with all season not because of snow but because of cold some summer tires stick to the pavement like hockey pucks on glass .

I use to drive my 03 & 08 from Maine to Orlando every spring and fall .I'd start out at 4 pm and drive all night with cat naps along the way .Driving time was about 23-24 hours and despite what one might think I had a good time .I'd store the car at Conway self storage near the Orlando airport...
