agreed.
Even though the ignition key is in the off position, there are still electronic modules drawing current. It's not much of a draw but would add up over time... especially 30 days.
bluecoupe, there was no need to change my intake since (starting mid year 2001) all the C5 LS1's have the LS6 intake from the factory.
I noticed a change in the exhaust tone. A little deeper at idle; hardly any change at mid throttle, and louder (especially from outside the cockpit) during...
No; they are direct swaps. When I did this my 2002 only had 3500 miles on it, so I even reused the gaskets.
The rear rubber supports (for the muffler hanger) have multiple notches used to level out the two mufflers. Try to use the same exact slots your existing mufflers are using.
I actually...
I bought a 1985 new; and now have a 2002.
IMO; Looks go to the C4... especially the second generation C4.
But all you need do is drive both and the C5 will be superior in many ways. As soon as I test drove a C5, I ordered one the next week... with no hesitation. The performance...
if all you long for is no pre-cats, then you can "gut" them yourself on your current H pipe... and it costs nothing.

FWIW; I have read where a wiring harness is different between the two variations (stick & auto). And to do the conversion correctly, the appropriate wiring harness needs to be purchased and swapped in. Butchering the existing harness (again, as I have read) leads to too many problems later.
the yaw sensors are for Active Handling, and are not a part of the traction control system.
And on the C5, Traction Control does not apply the brakes. It simply reduces engine power by closing the butterfly valve (throttle by wire).
as for the original posters question... the TC system is...
I've had a Predator since they were first available for the C5.
If you have an A4, you will reap more rewards. I gained an honest .2 in the quarter mile simply with the Predator (and I haven't even done a real dyno tune yet).
Most of my gains were from reprogramming shift points (I had...
the one drawback to my DIY ramps are that they weigh 30lbs each.
I like the massiveness of them (I tend to over-build); but some prefer lighter ones.
The gentle slope keeps any part of the car from touching, but this made the ramps 5 feet long. Not for everyone :)
from what I've discovered (except for maybe 1997 and 1998) all the C5 radios are capable of controlling the factory changer. Verify this by noting if the replacement radio has the changer control "scripts" on some of the buttons.
