If you want to get technical, then I guess 5th is an overdrive gear. However, it is also the top speed gear. 6th gear is too long to do a high speed run. It is however great for crusing down the interstate at 70+mph! :lou Jason

Unfortunately, a noisy top is common for C6 coupes. There are a couple easy fixes for this issue. The first is to take the car to your local dealer and a have them do the repairs as per service bulletin #08-08-67-013. The other is to do what I did and follow the instructions in this thread...

I picked up a nail in one of the rear tires of my old GS. Getting the spare tire out was a PITA. FWIW, I think the spare tire (when it is in its crib) was intended to help dampen rear impacts. :thumb Jason
