3000 hp TT Vette? I think so!.....

The physics doesn't work out that way. It would be like saying that if we rev the thing in neutral we'll suck enough air in the front to lower the presure enough to get the thing to move from the vacuum. Even a jet engine relies on burning the fuel to create higher pressure out the tail pipe...

My heater is just warm enough

One problem with C4s is the system can get clogged up with crap and you don't get enough air flow. I have to admit that I have never heard of anyone having a heat problem. Most of the vettes I know of up here are stored before you ever really have to use the heater. How much air is flowing...

    Is my antenna busted?

The 92 also has set of ground plane wires that are attached to the mast that you could check. I replaced my antenna with the kit from Mid.Am. and noticed a difference in the reception after running these wires correctly. Mid America also sells the switch/harness for an antenna override that...

right turn engine starved for fuel???

A few months ago there was a guy on a different c4 group I'm a member of who had the same problem. I think his cars an 87. In the end he found that the baffles in his gas tank had come loose so the gas would go to one side in a turn and would not be by the pump and the pickup.

HELP! Check Engine Soon light on

The early c4s have MAF (mass air flow) sensors while the later ones have MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensors. The relays are located on the firewall right behind the battery. If you get one then look at the car it you'll know exactly where they are. Ones the burnoff relay and the other is...

    89 fuel injectors

I noticed the noise when I first got my car. Having heard some other vetts I would say that it is normal. The best thing to do would be to hear what some other cars sound like. I'm not sure but I think there was a tsb out for this.

    Bad Boy of 1987

According to this site the price was $29,900. Given that the GNX option was $10,995 I am assuming this means it has everything possible. http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/buick-grandnational/buick-grandnational.shtml

    Power Antenna Relay

Now I'm really confused. I have always tested relays by energizing the inputs and measuring the voltages at the outputs to see if the correct leads are being energized for whatever input I give the thing. I was figuring that you didn't need to find the relay as long as you had the wire ends...

    Power Antenna Relay

They say there's no such thing as a stupid question so... Since you know which wires are supposed to do what couldn't you just use a voltmeter on the wires on the car?

Can 84-96 odometers be rolled back??

I took about 2 years to find the car I eventually bought. During that time I saw quite a few 86/87 coupes out there that were showing 30k on the odometer but had all the signs of a high milage car (worn ball joints,u-joints clicking, etc). For some reason it seems like 30k is the number...

Raffle a 1998 vette, who is interested?

Unless the money is being donated to something the guy should just put it up for sale for $29K and be willing to take $27.5k. Running a raffle can be a royal PITA. $300 is beyond the magic $200 price point that marketing loves but I guess he can't lower the price and sell more tickets since...

    what's on my dash?

Trying not to be a smart a_s, but which lid are you talking about? (trunk lid, center console lid, top storage lid).

Changing oil yourself or going to the lube place

While you are changing the oil you should also grease the upper and lower ball joints as well as the front and rear control arms. I really hate to start a debate on synthetic v.s. mineral, but, I bought my 87 with 64k miles on it and did not know if it had been running synthetic oil or not so I...

    A low mile C5 for $16K !!!!!!!!!!

It could also be a lease car at the end of its lease that the owner is buying out and selling on his own (and doesn't care how much he gets). On a 98 coupe at the end of a 5-year lease the buy out is about $18k. Of course this will depend on the terms of the lease so $16.6k is not out of the...

    87 antenna wires

Does anyone know which wire does what on the power antenna for an 87? There are three wires, green, white, and gray. I am assuming that these are for power, ground, and switched, but don't know which does what.

Need antenna part...have to order but don't know what it's called

Is there any way you can post a picture of what you need? All the antennas I have seen basically consist of a motor with a gear on it. The gear meshes with a nylon cable with teeth. By moving the cable you get the antenna to move up and down. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what...

Need antenna part...have to order but don't know what it's called

Go to the Ecklers site. They have a repair kit for 78-87 Delco antennas (part #29285) http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?dept%5Fid=1009&pf%5Fid=29285&mscssid=5MBUCD41DSQU8K6846EMRNQSNPSSDF60

    which car should I sell

If the Olds is a big block with the w30 option (and the numbers say it should be one) sell the Vette. If it isn't, you have to look at which one you really want to keep. I have to say this is a presonal decision that you will have to live with in the end. Personally, I sold my 70 442 vert that...

ebay vettes are they safe or should I look local

I can't tell you how many cars I looked at when I was looking for an 87 coupe (the car my dad said no way in h_ll when I turned 16). I can remember at least 6 cars that were advertised as "must see to believe". My personal favorite in this quest was at a dealership who had a car in "mint"...
