    68 Turn Signal Problems

The turn signals use a seperate flasher than the hazard. The hazards are powered by the battery and the turn signals are powered by the ign switch. Check the flasher and the fuse. Mike

    Constant On Air Conditioning Compressor

Hi all, The '74 doesn't use an adjustable low pressure switch. It's a V.I.R. system designed to keep the compressor running all the time when the AC is turned on. If the compressor is still on when in the heat position you probably have a broken ac switch in the console attached to the...

Is anyone running an EATON Posi (400 lb rated) Diff ???

Dave, All C3 posi units are Eaton. I've installed many of them in 12 bolt and 10 bolt GM rear ends. They work great and the best part is they are rebuildable. Mike

    To offset, or not?

joe, i just took some measurments. a stock vette wheel has 4" backspace. there is 1/2" clearance between the rim to the e brake cable bracket and from the rim to the spring. a 10" rim will work if it has the 4" backspace. to use a 10" rim with a 5" backspace will require the offset trailing arm...

    Wiper Door Operation

cs, the vacuum switch on the wiper arm only allows the door to close when the wipers are parked. the switch on the firewall keeps the wipers from moving until the door is fully open. either the plunger is adjusted too close or the switch is shorted or bypassed. mike

    '79 Front Air Dam Replacement

greekman, the four center bolts are clips. cut the bolt heads off and bend the clips to get them off the valance. the four outer bolts are screwed into brackets. they are 1/4 x 20 thread. you can drill these out and rethread to 1/4 or if you need to the braces are large enough to tap for 5/16...

Removing heat riser vs. warm-up time

joe, the heat riser forces the r side exhaust thru the intake to preheat the air/fuel when engine temp is below 150 degrees. it has no effect on warm-up time. you might notice a stumble during warm-up if you remove the servo, assuming it even works. i doubt you will notice any difference. mike

    To offset, or not?

bill, you have it correct. let me try to go into more detail. stock wheels, 275-60 tires: the tires rub on the emergency brake cable bracket. this can be fixed by relocating the bracket to the top of arm or using offset arms. 10 inch wheels with 1-2" more backspacing: the tires will rub on the...

    To offset, or not?

bill, the offset trailing arms do not change the position of the wheel and tire. they just give more clearance between the tire and arm. depending on the offset of your wheels you may have a clearance problem with the spring and with the frame kick-up. mike
