Last year on the 99, we replaced the rotors and in the process, replaced all the brake fluid. The car had only 36k miles on it, but I have never seen such nasty fluid. It was :puke
That was when we decided to have every fluid in the car replaced. Like LLC5 said, "No fluid can be too clean"...

Are you getting any messages in the Driver Info Center (on the dash) to the the tune of "pull key wait 10 seconds"?
How old is the battery? Premature battery failures are typical of many years of C5's. Hopefully someone will come along with more suggestions about the non-cranking...

I don't know if there is anything specific to the C6/Z06, but windex and 409 are junk, and paper towels are a no-no too :L
Try b&w newspapers and Stoner's Invisible Glass cleaner. It always worked pretty well for me.
