The L46 cam (same as the L82 cam) was a great cam in its day, but much better grinds are available today. Call one of the major cam producers and tell them what you have and see what they recommend.

The cats would limit the use of side pipes. Exhaust would have to run back, then through the cats, then make a u-turn to come back up front to connect with any side pipe. There was a company awhile back that did that but don't think they were too successful.

Also in the GM standard is the capability to go 50 miles and still be repairable. Most other run flats are capable of going up to 50 miles but are not repairable.
