My '07 has a small patch of shine on the drivers side. It is only the size of a dime. A judge hasn't noticed it yet by it is bugging me. Actually the exterior trim strips are originally gloss but GM applied a matt coating over the strips to dull them up, just like they did with the C4 center...
Yeah, it really surprised me too. I purchased the car out-of-state with 7,700 miles on it. I don't know what type of fuel the previous owner used but I suspect the BMW dealer from which I purchased the car did the fill up. I did not notice a problem until about a 1,000 miles later By then I had...
Corrected: '07 Intermittent Hot Start Problem
I got lucky and corrected this. Poured in 1 container of Lucas Fuel Injection Cleaner. Problem fixed in less than 1 day.
Anyone experienced this problem? Recently purchased '07 LS3 roadster with 7,500 miles. Starts and runs great except sometimes cranks for 3-4 seconds before startup when allowed to sit for a couple of hours when ambient temp is around 90 degrees F. It does not do this for every cold-soak start...
Thanks orange09intexas,
<<I would also ask C4C5 if your C6's problem could stem from dealer not removing the (shims?) the factory puts in suspension for shipping....I read somewhere on here awhile back that that was similiar problem with another persons Vette (but thinking about it that was...
c4c5specialist-
Thanks for your response. Clutch packs, hmmm, sound like what I had with the C4 once.
As for tire scalloping, no the front and rears are pretty smooth and straight all the way across.
I spoke with the previous owner today. He said the car has had those front end parking lot...
Hi y'all. I've been on the site for a few years now learning about and extolling the virtues of our first Vette, a '95 Comp Yellow C4. Can't stand to part with her but had to get an '07 Velocity Yellow Roadster. She has very low mileage at 7,800 and appears to be very well cared for. She has...
Want to replace the LCD radio channel display screen lamps tomorrow. The last lamp blew last summer and being able to see what station I'm on in the dark would be nice. There must be at least a couple. Does anyone know the size of these lamps. P/N?I suppose Radio Shack might carry them.
Thanks...
Can anyone help me identify the type horn I've lost on the passenger side, front of my '95. It is out. I have no idea what music note it is, A or F, but I need to know that to order a correct replacement. Anyone know? Also, does anyone have the part number? I've been all over the net but without...
I love Ice! It works very nicely on my yellow finish. I did a little test with a guy on his black C6. Before a show he did one-half of the hood with his $35/bottle polish and I did the other half with Ice. Well, I convinced him and he finished off the car with the Ice. Regarding my ride I swear...
I like the back end "clean". All I'm going to say too. In the end game it is what "you" like and I doubt anyone will tell you what they really think anyway so you'll just have to guess if people like any customization you do or do not do.
I've not had a problem with Eckler's shipping or after sale service. They ship my C4 parts quickly and accurately. One time I did screw up and ordered 2 of something. They accepted the extra part back and paid my freight. I have found them less expensive than MidAmerica on most things I've...
Direct UV dose will be the most harmful but indirect can obviously contribute to damage over time. Sweat the direct, not the indirect. Keep the exposed part of the gaskets a slicked up. That will reflect UV quite well. I've always wiped on Silicone spray (yes, the lube stuff) about every other...
My '95 has always done the same thing. Only car I've ever owned that does this. You'd think 300hp would not even hiccup with the AC but it does. I emptied 1/2 can of freon in her although she was cooling like a mutha. I do believe I do not feel as much of a momentary lag now when the AC cycles.I...
Okay, I got the guts to admit I've used MMO for years; not often but when I felt it necessary. I add it to oil whenever I hear that very slight tic, tic when lifters start to gum up from time to time (GM 350's are notorious for this). My most recent use was in my '95 LT1 with 50k miles. I've...
