Side Cove Restoration for a '62.

Don't know anyone who specifically restores them, but recently I've seen that they're reproduced. I believe Corvette Specialties of Maryland makes them. Chuck

    1954 Corvette For Sale

I was asking 85K, but everything's negotiable. It was bid up to 62K several months ago for a "no sale". For $40.00, EBAY is good advertising. :) Not sure about bringing it to Carlisle. I'm used to "doing my thing" at Carlisle, and don't relish sitting in the Car Corral for 8 hours/day...

    Off to NCRS National

Great pix, John. Looks like a nice venue too. NCRS National Conventions are great. Sorry I couldn't make this one. Chuck

Help on '67 SB ignition shielding (top)

The bracket on the driver side (with the bolt hole in top) has to be bent inward a fair amount. The top wire loom holder on the right side needs to be bent back so it's parallel to the firewall. It's a tight fit. The shield will rub the back edge of the hood surround when you put it on...

Try bringing this back from the dead???

$9500 opening bid? :) If somebody gave me that car, I wouldn't restore it. As a matter of fact, if somebody offered me that car FREE, I wouldn't take it. Chuck

    ODCC Corvette Show...PHOTOS

Sorry I couldn't make it Colin. It was my daughter's 36th birthday, and we took her, her husband, and the 2 grandkids out to brunch. Hard to believe that she's 36, since I'm still trying to "pass" for 40. :) Chuck

    Rear wheel bearings

Tony's done 2 sets for me, the 63 and the 69. There is NO WAY I would mess with rear wheel bearings, and I'm a pretty good amateur mechanic. You need many specialty tools and gauges, a large press, etc. It's just not worth messing with them yourself. Van Steel and Bair's also will do an...

    Looking at a '71 coupe.....

Also, check the VIN tag. Then check the engine stamp pad. See if the "numbers match". Also check the block casting # and casting date. I'd also check the trim tag. Make sure it's painted the correct color with the correct interior color/material. Sounds like a nice...

    '78 in the paint shop.......

Looks good, Barry. Are you going single stage urethane or BC/CC? BTW, I'm picking up my 63 tonight. Dropped it off at the painters on Saturday for some touch up.... These were a couple of scratches within the door jambs, that were present when I picked up the car 1 1/2 years ago...

Great Day At Vintage Thunder XV Yesterday

We get a lot of our Chapter members at the event. SOME run their old Corvettes, some run their C5's and C6's. This year, we had about 35 members out of a Chapter of 85 members present at the event. It's by far our most popular event. We get more at the drags than we get at the FREE...

Great Day At Vintage Thunder XV Yesterday

Rick drove the Z06 to the event, AFTER dropping his daughter off at BWI Airport, also in the Z06, earlier that AM. The C3 that broke a U joint was a drag race prepared car. Unusual that he broke it going through the traps, and not at the start line. He did one heck of a job keeping the car...

    convertible top installation

Get the video. :) I've put on several C3 tops. First step is to detach the rear bow, and install the top to the bow, using the weatherstrip and nylon cord. From there, it's just measuring, tacking, tugging, and glueing. The measurements between the bows is critical. The placement of the...

Great Day At Vintage Thunder XV Yesterday

Mason Dixon Chapter's 15th. year of putting on the vintage Corvette drags at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, MD. Had 102 Corvettes, 120 drivers. Beautiful day. Only one mishap, when a drag race prepared C3 broke a UJoint/Half Shaft AFTER going through the timing traps. Did a 360 spin...
