    C2 - Deck lid alignment

"Dog" has it right. :) Its been some time since I fooled with one, but by adding shims under ONE of the bolts ( I think the front-most), you change the angle of the hinge and allow it to close further. Chuck

    Is there life after having a 67 w/3 x 2 400

I have the 427/400 tripower in my 69. No problems with it. Runs like a scalded dog too. Don't know what kind of problems you're having with it. The system should run on the center carb only until you put your foot into it. Chuck

    Finally 63 Home = Photos

BABY is finished & home............... YEAH!!!!!!

I know that Kahunaville is "on the waterfront" in downtown Wilmington. It's probably an hours drive for me. Can't make it this Sunday....we're celebrating my wife's birthday. (won't tell how many years :) ) I enjoy local shows and cruises. What I don't like are these all day NCCC...

BABY is finished & home............... YEAH!!!!!!

The car looks great, Barry. It's been a long process. :) Hope to see you at some of the local events. I hear that this "Kahunaville" place in Wilmington, Del. is quite a place. I've never been there. They sure advertise a lot. I'll dig out my passport so I can cross the border into...

1975 10 leaf rear spring liners?

You're right about the 10 leafer in 75. I'm not a "guru" of anything much beyond 72. That's what I get for "shooting from the hip". :) I'm used to seeing 10 leaf replacements on 63-72's. The replacements that I've seen also have bands around the ends of the springs. Chuck

1975 10 leaf rear spring liners?

10 leaf is a replacement. Chuck

    motor ID question

You don't give the year, etc, but the numbers you post: V02200HB are the assembly date and suffix. V = Flint engine plant 02 = February 20 = 20th of the month OHB?? Don't know. CHB shows for a 75 350CI 165HP with automatic trans. Could is be CHB instead of OHB? Is your car a 75...

'78 Pace Car, how do you tell if it is 4 speed original?

I'm no Pace Car expert, but here goes: The VIN range for Pace Cars is ONLY XXXX900001-906502 The full VIN's are 1Z87L8S900001----and up TO 6502. The FIFTH digit...if it's an "L", it's an L48, if it's a "4", it's an L82 originally. The engine codes are stamped on the "stamp pad" ahead of...

    Need more head and legroom

I'm 6"4", 240#. I fit just fine in my 69 convertible, with or without the top up. My wife and I have driven this car thousands of miles on NCRS Road Tours to St. Louis, Bowling Green, and Long Island. It's not the most comfortable car compared to your daily driver, but it's OK. Where...

    Ready for Carlisle

Spring and Fall Carlisle are HUGE. The swap meet dwarf's the Corvette Carlisle event, which is HUGE in and of itself. I've never checked this, but SUPPOSEDLY if you walked up and down each row, in the lower field, the infield, and the North field, it's about 10 miles of walking. It's the...

    Dynoed the LADY!

I thought they dyno'ed the front wheels too. :) Seriously, the car sounded GREAT. You should be happy with those dyno results. Many don't know, but "back in the day" of the HP wars, they rated engine HP using flywheel gross HP, NOT rear wheel net HP. The test engines had no accessories...

    Ready for Carlisle

Going up to Spring Carlisle on Friday, 4-22. NOT looking for anything special, just catching the "ambience" :) If I find a trinket or two, that'll be good. If I don't find anything, that'll be OK too. Chuck

Ebay BS ? What do you think ? I'm ****ed Any advice ?

This is just my opinion, but I truly believe that "sniping" is already a huge problem, and that EBAY will have to do something about it. Everybody's doing it, even on "trinket" Corvette items. I don't use sniping software, but I have to say that most of my "Corvette buds" do. I buy and...

    T-hooks to tie down C1's

Wrap a strap through the bottom of both lower A Arms. Then cris-cross them, and use a ratchet strap on each to the front of the trailer. Wrap a strap over the rear axle...either side, and use a ratchet strap to the rear. I've towed for thousands of miles with no problems. Don't put the car...

    Center Exhaust hangers

I believe that all 64's used the "batwing" style exhaust hanger. 63's used the "conveyor belt" style. Chuck

Sent out my bumpers for a chrome plating quote

Here's another thought...if your original bumpers fit, have them chromed. Sometimes, replacement bumpers don't fit. I have NO experience with the repro's. Case in point....decades ago, I drilled a 1/2 inch hole under my left front bumper to mount a fog light. I was going to have all 4...

    Atlantic City Car Show

To clarify things a bit, the Atlantic City "show" isn't really a "show", it's an auction. They'll run 900 or so cars through the auction over a 3 day period. There are cars in the "gallery" for sale. The flea market has deteoriorated over the years. Used to have lots of guys selling parts...
