How to do Side Exhaust Correctly

Ken...there's no place here that has anything I want or need for the Vette regarding headers or side pipes that is "off the shelf". Because of the RHD conversion everything virtually has to be custom made and as I've discivered, it ani't bloody cheap! :eek As it is even if I buy some headers...

How to do Side Exhaust Correctly

Do you know of any in good old Ca where I might get some?

How to do Side Exhaust Correctly

Ta Thanks Ken. I'll do that. Just called Australian Customs and found out a sneaky way to avoid duty. If I can get parts sent over and have them marked for marine use only the the customs duty is negated. Now to find a supplier who's willing to play ball.

How to do Side Exhaust Correctly

Sidepipe to OZ Would anyone have an idea as to the best place for me to buy a set of side pipes or even just the headers and have them shipped over here? It may turn out to be the easiest and cheapest option than having them made up here. I could only use the LH side headers as is, but the RH...

Finally got a Rear Torsion Bar setup!!

TAs Tom...while I have my trailing arms out, I'm relocating that bracket to the top of the arms. Should easily allow at least 275s now.

    My Poor man's 6 Link

Good points Thanks for the suggestions 68. Firstly the major reason I decided to go with the 6 Link was because my yolks had for some reason previously been machined off at the C clip...so I don't have one and it's near on impossible to buy new ones over here at all. As for the suspension...

    My Poor man's 6 Link

Here's my attempt at making my own 6 Link rear suspension addition. My idea was to come up with a top mounting bracket and strut rod set up that was simpler to make as well as using existing parts that were left over after buying Vette Brakes' Smart Struts which most people seem to end up with...

    700R4 and Hooker Headers

And we survived Thanks...I love to know what speed I was doing in someone else's Vette while he was asleep in the passenger's seat. Especially in a strange LHD car in the middle of the night while it was raining pick handles in a 65 mph zone. It's a pity I was so tired that I couldn't keep my...

    control arm bushing advice

Easy enough I too was as daunted by this job as the rest, but with a few words of wisdom in my shell like ear I proceeded to do the entire front end myself with little or no problems. How you remove the springs is up to you. I tied mine up before releasing the tension on them and simply...

    700R4 and Hooker Headers

Re: Re: 700R4 and Hooker Headers Let me know what 3,200 rpm in OD equates to will ya? :eek From what I know about this stuff ... all automatics have the removable X member.

What should I do with these?

Unfortunately I'm having to lean away from chroming them due to the effect the chroming process could have on the structural integrity of the cast metal. I appreciate the painting tip Chris, but aside from wanting to show my car I also drive it as much as possible. Well my wife does most of the...

    T-Arms for a 69

Great work Rick. I wish I was back there at Van Steel myself. Art gave us a tour of the place when Scott81 and I were there a while ago. If only we had places like that over here. Oh well.

79...Lars is the best when it comes to HEI distributors and a lot of other things mechanical as well. I bought his kit when I was over there last July. I'll be putting it in my dist. when the engine comes out for it's major rebuild.

Trailing arms...need a diagram or pics

Dave...I have some pics that could give you some idea as to the length I'm going to with my TAs, but I'll have to alter the size of the pic before Ican show it on this post. I'm in the middle of some modifications to the rear end that might be of interest to some. So far they seem to be...

Dave...I work for Caltex refinery and as such haven't seen anything that high for quite a while and also there is no way known in the forseeable future that there'll ever be any juice that high again. I just had a quick look in my outdated Gregory's and couldn't find Oatlands........where is it...

Trailing arms...need a diagram or pics

Dave...No I didn't make it to Castle Hill tho one of my mates came round and wanted to go. I had too many other projects in the works to be able to attend. The TAs are coming along ok now. I've just got a bit more tidying up to do on them before I'll be happy with their final appearance. Then...

How about this combo for an engine buildup>

Check out this site and see what you're happy with. http://ryanscarpage.50megs.com/index.html I did all the research before buying my heads and I finally went with AFR's 180s. Also when you've finally decided on the combination you want then it's time to fit a stall convertor that suits your...

    Horsepower Hunt

Dave...I think you'd be very lucky to find any petrol out here that's even close to 98 RON. The closest you could hope to get would be PULP with an octane booster and even then you'd be pushing the proverbial uphill to get past 97 and a bit. The idiocy of it all is that any vehicle running...
