I love these new tires! I purchased the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. Finally I was able to mount my new rims and tires to my Vette and man what a difference!!!! These tires are so smooth and quite, none of that road roar that the old Gators had.
I got home early from work and mounted the front...
Man that would have been nice.
I took a drive up to Hershey PA to the AACA Museum to check out their “Corvette: Collecting the Legend” display.
It is awesome!!! I recommend it big time, and it is a nice drive too. :upthumbs

Yes, it is not very easy in Corel Photo-Paint ether. The first picture took me a few hours to do; the second took about an hour. The neat thing using the "Smear" tool is that you can also mix colors as well depending on the transparency setting.
Thanks, I mostly use an old version of Corel Photo-Paint, upgrading to Photoshop is on my wish list. :)
I don't know of any tutorials for photo editing except that PaintShop Pro has good ones on its website.
I mainly use the "Smear" tool, I don't know what the same type of tool would be in...
Cool, Flinger.... working with graphics programs it's like pushing paint around, isn't it?
Here's a rear view, as I was working on it the more it looked like a C3/C6 hybred. I think it makes the rear look smaller too and a bit more classic.
I should have taken your advice in the first place, but in the end I did purchase Eagle F1 GS-D3 @ Tirerack.
Two local shops said that they sold the F1s but not in my Vette's size, they would have to special order them and I wouldn't get the discounted prices; so I called around some speed...
Thanks guys,
I just busted my 1/2" to 3/8" adapter, cheap tool set I'm afraid, so off I went to Home Depot (Sears closes @ 9) and picked up a new torque wrench.
I also discovered that the shop who installed my tires installed two of them in the wrong direction!!!! I can't believe it, I'll...
:beer Thanks Jeb & Ken, bigtime!
I noticed that there wasn't a scratch on the bolts or cradle so I guess I'm the first to try to lower the spare tire.
I hope I've used up my stupid question quotient today. :crazy
:ugh Sorry for this question, I know that I know the answer but I have to ask it anyway.....
In lowering the spare tire, do you rotate the retaining bolt clockwise or counter clockwise as you are looking up to it from the bottom?
I'm going on a trip tomorrow, taking handicap kids for rides...
Ok gang, here's the final version of how I would have liked the "New Vette" to look. I tried to make it look like a modern version of C2 without being too obvious. When I have the time I will create a view from the rear of the car.
I appreciate all of the comments, positive and negative, this...
I agree, I like the fender flares on the new Z06; it gives it a little more personality and muscle. I don't mind the side vents so much, I just wish they didn't copy the Vipers.
I do believe that the C6 will go down as one of the more popular designs because of it's better length to width...
I disagree that the C6 with its superior HP to the original C4 would have its top speed be so penalized if its Cd was the same as the C4.
I guess the best example would be with a ZR-1 w/405 hp, essentially the same Cd as a standard C4, and its top speed is rated at just shy of 180.
FYI...
Thank, I know what you mean about popups; I’ve owned a Firebird, Fiero and now a Vette, and had reservation about what to do in case of the dreaded stuck closed headlight. I never experienced a problem with the Firebird but I only owned that car for 2 years, but I did have a problem with the...
Chevy did do a good job of visually breaking up the rear of the C6 to minimize the big butt look of the C5.
I do believe that the C6 hinnie is about the same height as the C5's but looks smaller.
Gee, GM should go into designing women's jeans, whoops, did I say that? ;LOL
I agree with HD, the C5 design has grown on me over the years as well, mainly because you don't see many RX7s around and the convertible's short roof profile elongates the rear of the car and reduces the "Big Butt" a bit.
I think most car designers today have creative problems when it comes to...
Thanks HD and everyone else. I actually wanted to pursue car design when it came time for me to go to college, I even planned on applying to the Pasadena School of Art and Design (It was and still is the Meca of car design) but when I spoke to an admissions officer I was told that there was a 4...
The New Corvette’s design is definitely a controversial one; some people miss the popup headlights and clamshell hood. Others say that it looks too much like a Viper and not like a “Vette.”
Well even though I like the new design better than the C5’s, I would have liked the New Vette to...
