    81 rough idle

Shot in the dark. I had an intermitent check engine light for a few years that no one could trace. Long story short it was a cracked engine temperature sending unit. Found on the front of the intake manifold next to the radiator hose outlet. JU

    Sway Bars

81's with the stock suspensions and automatics came with the fiberglass spring. FE7 gave you the steel spring......which I do not miss one bit!!!!! The black book does not mention what a 4spd with std suspension came with. Mine is a 4spd w/FE7 with steel spring (in the attic now) JU

I have the FE7 suspension which gives a little higher front end height. I've never had a problem with the 255's which were OEM on it. Sorry no side view of the front! JU

Tell us all where you bought your C3

Howard moved to Mesa, AZ ten+ years ago. I stopped to visit last spring. He's not into retailing Vettes as much as servicing and doing appraisals for would be buyers. He has a phone listing in the business section but word of mouth keeps his line ringing vs web sites or yellow pages. JU

Tell us all where you bought your C3

I was looking for a "mint" C3 back in '91 to replace a '70 convertible that was going to cost waaaay more to cherry out then just finding a gem to begin with. I'd visit Howard's in Sioux Falls, SD when in the area on business and he and I were on the same page for what mint meant! He called one...

    Someone get me a TOWEL!!!!

I see Vette Vues mentioned. I remember the 2 or 3 issue article they did back around '80 on L88's. This one was pictured on the cover. Now, if I can only remember where those magazines are stashed??? JU

    HELP with my '68s History

I would not count on C&V for anything beyond lip service. Why would the neighbor have to get it retitled? It should have come with a clean title from the dealer. JU

    HELP with my '68s History

Hi neighbor! I'd try Google to find an auto title search company that might be able to trace back an older car (Carfax only do 1981 or newer) The VIN tag did not get changed during the previous owners tenure? Seems strange for it to be retitled in Kansas, goes to an Arizonia dealer and resold...

I concur, Bud's not running a bank. He's doing the running, the least we can do is make sure he's paying the bill with our money not his! JU

    Door Opening

I had the opposite problem...outside worked, inside did not. Turns out when I removed the door panel, I found a lack of grease in the insides of the mechanism, some gizmo did not move freely..... Has worked fine for over 12+ years now JU
