Without turning this into an oil thread......the main thing is to change your oil before you store it every fall. I put 1,000 miles a year on mine and change the oil the same time I put it away to keep the varnishes and other things that suspend in the oil out of the motor when stored.
I've...
I believe the difference in height of some '80-'82's is the FE7 suspension package. Mine came with it and rides at a comfortable height....I believe a fist (3") of clearance under the spoiler. I do notice ones that must have the std springs that have settled down a little. Thoses do tend to...
Remember the ads in the newspapers paying $20,000 for a buffalo nickel?
Yep only a few were worth that but the untrained public was thinking the shoe box in the closet with worn out coins was worth a fortune.
Same story now. Public thinks anything with 4 wheels in fiberglass is a fool proof...
Bud,
Run a "stockless" store with orders taken once a year!
A spring pre-booking and payment in advance for whatever you decide to offer the group. Pre-screen to be sure you can book enough to meet your minimums.
Thanks,
JU
On Friday I received a call from my agent saying my Insurance company will not continue to issue my 1 million umbrella coverage because they will not cover vehicles with separate collectors policies...ie my Vette & motorcycle have agreed value policies thru Hagerty Ins. Funny this company has...
OOPs....sorry I read your post and see you have a '82 not an '81!!!!!
**** For '81 and older
Do you have the factory air cleaner on it?
If so...Make sure the hose coming off the tube making a U turn on the drivers side around the "snorkel" is not hitting the throttle. Mine needs to be pulled...
I've still got that one. Volume 1, 1977. I used to stare and drool at that car! Hot Rod Magazine published a Corvette only pictorial once a year.

This car is a good example of "farming out" the mechanical/fix-it chores vs doing it yourself. Your cost of paying for labor and parts markups are not recovered when you sell unless your dealing with an appreciating vehicle. Rubber bumper Corvettes are still at the bottom of the appreciation...
I sold that car in 1981. I did not want to stick the money into it. A complete strip and paint job was running $2,500+ back then on a $4,000 valued car!
Good Luck,
JU
I had the tabs start to break off one of my originals. I ordered a replacement from one of the big vendors and the new versions are not exact copies of the originals.
Close enough for government work apparently applies. They all look alike at 70 mph!

Being a long time Lexol user I broke down and purchased a bottle of Z10 on my last refill order.
I found it "dried" without the oily stickyness I'd have with the Lexol. The Lexol would take a few days to soak in and allow you to slide into the seat.
Yes, I'd buff the Lexol after a day in the...
A Corvette magazine is $4.99+, a movie is $7.00+, a gallon of gas is $2.20. a new Corvette is $50,000+.
Is a $5.00 charge going to keep anyone owning a Corvette away? Token charges like that keep the bratty local kids out. They probably donate it a local cause anyway.
How much will you spend on...
My '81 was built with the power antenna/CB/8track. The head was gone when I purchased it but I found a CB/cassette head at a Caddillac salvage yard (15 yrs ago) I installed. The CB is great on club runs.
I found the name of United Radio in my file 800-634-8606. Not sure how current the...
Interesting when looking at the "Black Book" 4spd sales were actually inching up, very slowly though!
