Sounds almost similar to a mass airflow sensor problem. Disconnect the mass air flow if the car runs fine then you have found the culprit. If the car hesitates and stumbles you have eliminated one possible issue. If that doesn't work you might start pulling spark plugs and see if one of them is...

a/c should never leak as the system is sealed. If it's low on freon you have a leak somewhere. If anything I would at least do a leak check with some dye. The chemicals that make up r12 make for a colder a/c. That's why you will find people saying their old A/C systems always blew colder...

After buffing my cars I go back with 3m swirl mark remover. It's best applied with a foam pad on a orbital sander. This is what I used when I worked at a body shop. This method worked extremly well on dark colored vehicles where swirl marks were present after buffing.
