A long shot - I had a rattle in my 1999 C5 coupe from the day I bought it new. I swore it was coming from the center or left side of the dash, and was worse with rough roads.
One day when I raised the hood, I saw the passenger side hood hinge "lift" where it was bolted to the front frame...
I recently replaced both front daytime running lamps / turn signal / parking light bulbs in my 1999 C5 coupe that burned out.
The GM bulb part #12450182 - it is a special bulb with a special base that takes the extra heat of the daytime running lamp feature.
Good luck.
The only reason I ordered the automatic HVAC controls in my 1999 C5 was so I could have the dual-zone controls for my wife.
The dual-zone controls in my C5 do not make much difference, but will warm the passenger side slightly when it is used.
I use the manual settings and not the automatic...
rbcgb,
To drain the antifreeze in my 1999 C5, I turned the radiator petcock 1/4 turn counter clockwise, then pulled the petcock outward. I have seen posts where C5 owners broke the petcock by trying to turn it further.
Good luck.
You must have missed all the media coverage when the C5 was introduced. Many, many write-ups had information from Chevrolet that two sets of golf clubs would fit in the luggage area of a C5.
I am not a golfer and always thought that Chevrolet "over-hyped" that piece of information.
I have a...
Ed02,

My 1999 C5 coupe is on its third Delco battery since I purchased the car new. When I drive my C5, it is usually for a long (50 - 100 mile) drive.
I'm not sure why, but batteries do not seem to last as long in a...
The allocation system that GM uses for dealers / corvettes is terrible.
It does not permit customers to order the car they want from the dealer they want to deal with. It keeps prices artificially high and frustrates the customer.
What other business prevents the customer from ordering a...
I saw a new C6 coupe today "up close" that was DSOM with ebony interior. The owner had purchased it yesterday and it was the first DSOM that I had seen. The car was beautiful and if I ordered a C6, it would be the color combination I would want.
GKrenn,
In a GM Techlink magazine article, GM advised that stainless steel braided brake lines can cause electrical interference with the wheel speed sensors.
You can read the on line edition here to for the article (ninth article down)...

This is the information posted in that link by an expert/master Corvette mechanic:
Use of a star washer under a ground wire connection. In the past, it has been known to use star washers under most ground connections. It was believed using a star washer would improve continuity to ground and...
