Air Pump...I'd like to leave it off !

Hammer, Instead of taking a step backward in time and technology why don't you consider upgrading to FI? There are many good options out there depending on your requirments, i.e. MPFI, TBI, hood clearance, etc. IMHO the only reason for keeping a carb is if you want to keep it original. I...

GM 502 EFI Ram Jet Engine in a C3

Yes, I do still have the stock exhaust manifolds on it for now. Really, those aren't as bad as you might think. I did port them and remove the internal A.I.R. bumps that were cast in even though 70 did not have them functional. I am sure the worst restriction comes from the sidepipes. I have...

GM 502 EFI Ram Jet Engine in a C3

Thanks Guys, for all the complements. Makes all the hard work & $$ seem worth it.:beer Ed, I purchased the Keisler kit which fits with no tunnel mods. It comes with the shortened driveshaft, yoke, mounting brackets, etc. I did choose to make the center section of my crossmember removable so I...

GM 502 EFI Ram Jet Engine in a C3

I have the Tremec 5-speed TKO 500 behind RamJet. With the 3:08 rear end, that gives me a pretty healthy 4.00 equivalent first gear. In 5th gear OD, I am tooling down the highway at ~75mph at 2k rpm. Helps with the old mpg. The tires are Falken 245x45zr17's which in no way keep it hooked up...

GM 502 EFI Ram Jet Engine in a C3

The installation is pretty straight forward, biggest challenge is the hood. The L-88 hood is about 1.5" too low. I had to raise the center section of an old Eckler hood to accomodate the RamJet intake.

    Pure stock 76 Question??

Can anyone tell me if the 1976 coupe ever came with a third rear stop light mounted on the rear center portion of the roof? I was telling a young vette owner who recently bought his first vette ( Silver 76 L82 coupe) that I didn't think the center roof mounted stop light was stock on his 76. I...

Found all the previous owners of the 70 LT-1 !

After spending a number of years thinking about tracing the heritage of the Vettes, I started doing it for the 70 LT-1. I purchased the car from a guy up in Muscatine Iowa back in 86 who told me he was the third owner. Turned out I was able to still get back in touch with him so after shooting...

Need help identifing 7 blade fan application

When we purchased the 72 LT-1 w A/C car, a new, in the box, GM 7 blade fan (GM #465580) came with it in a spare parts goodie box. Can anyone tell me if it belongs to the LT-1? It does not look like the one on the car right now. If it does not apply to the LT-1....what does it go to? Any help is...

    LT1 Hood Stripes

Why don't you get a 1970 Assembly Instruction Manual, the location and stripe dimensions are explicitly defined on one of the drawings back in the Options section. Besides, the AIM will be a valuable resource in the future. Mid America among others have copies available for sale. Bullshark
