    88 Convertible Value?

Sorry about your dad.Over here there was just an 87 vert,89,000 miles in good shape for $6500.

New wheels on '96 vert (pics)

he probably got a lower profile tire,so the outside diameter doesn't change. Example,i run 19 inch deep dish wheels on my 89, i run 30 series tires,so actually,my 19 rim with a 275-30-19 is 1/4" shorter than the stock 17 rim with the 275-40-17's... make sense?

    More problems Code 32

cool news.... were you actually able to drive the car the way it was? How is you're idle now? I can't do it for a few hours, but i'll go look at my 89 and let you know exactly were the cruise control hose goes. When you get this all sorted out,you should probably, remove and clean the throttle...

    More problems Code 32

i see it on the diagram? It's labeled, "fitting",the doted line on the diagram means it's on the bottom of the plenum. The one on the bottom of the plenum goes to the split, the other sie of the split goes to the egr solenoid, make sure it plugs to the left side of the egr solenoid....Now the...

    More problems Code 32

the single port on the egr solenoid is left open..good idea, start from scratch, try starting from the egr valve first, hook up the egr valve hose to the switch, then hook the switch hose to the split etc..

    More problems Code 32

This may be a better quality pic.. your egr is connected to the rear of the plenum? To the side by side ports? Those 2 on the side are for the fuel pressure regulator.. Man your car is going to run great when you get the vacuum hoses all hooked up right.Oh ya,the single port on the egr solenoid...

does it make sense to you? Maybe just buy 10 ft of vacuum hose and re-do most of the lines. Might have some minor cracks/leaks,sorce of alot of idle problems.

'89 runs rough when at operating temperature

Damn,is that a 2:59 gear? Just realized you have 6 speeds. I do 60 miles a day on the freeway, about 2 miles in the city. I have never seen more than 25mpg. Although i do have the 3:07 gears, cold air intake, true dual exhaust with no cats..some other minor mods..In feb,i'll probably be around 15...

    wheels..one more time

89 up can use the c5 wheels no spacers.I have 19" mayas with a 2 inch deep dish and a 2 1/2 drop on my 89,but if it's c5 wheels you want, this is my buddies old c4,3 inch drop, and the wheels are c5 motorsports that came off my c5,bolted right on with no spacers. This c4 also ran 99 wagon...

    C4 vs C5 performance

I raced vettes all the time at the track, well before it closed.. i actually raced my own c4,my g/friend was driving my stock 89 auto with 3:07 gears. She can drive, she got a 2.0 60 ft time.ran a 14'1 @ 99 mph,i was next to her in my bone stock (at that time) 99 auto 3:07 gears. I ran 13.6 @ 106...

'89 runs rough when at operating temperature

Humm,ya never know, maybe his bad injectors had restricted flow,so the PCM reads the car as lean and retards the timing and adjusting pulse width, giving him better milage, sorta like economy mode, then he puts in new ones, and the a/f ratio and flow is good, timing stays advanced, performance went up...

Thermostat Temps & Water Pump Question?

just keep in mind that the fans also control the temp..If you put in a 160* t stat, the fans still won't come on until 226*. You must reprogram the fans to come on sooner to take advantage of a lower t-stat.

Looking to replace Fuel Injectors any advice

    Anyone have any opinions on these? What lb injector shoul i get with a stock engine? I have a true duel exhaust,no cats,flowmasters,SLP c.a.i,. In feb,i'm putting in a 383 stroker,but for now,i need to replace mine. <TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD...

Being draw in by the callaway..

Aloha gang, I had many vettes, modded and slammed. I'm on my 2nd 89 now,i was going to get another c5 in the new year, but i'm thinking maybe a callaway instead. I would drop it 2 to 3 inches like my other c4s,put 18" front and 19" rear wheel on it. I would also being 1/4 miling the car a few...

    They Just Look Better Lowered

I agree...lower is better.. i'll be autocrossing my slammed c4 starting nov 1. Heres how far i dropped my c5 (3 inches),people should realize, there are stainless steel rocker protectors, front roller balls protectors that weld/bolt to the lower radiator supports, and the front spoiler is on a...
