    31K 79 Vette on EBay

This could be a very rare car! I wonder how many '79's had the "factory high rise aluminum intake and Holley carburetor"

    Brake pedal softens while braking.

I had a soft pedal on my '72, no leaks anywhere. Bled the system and it was good for a couple of hours then gradually got soft again. Turned out the master cylinder was bad.

    C3 Digital Guage Cluster

Cool, but....nah. I like the original look too.

    Carb Spacer

My '72 LT-1 has a 1/4" spacer. With the stock Holley and intake there are no hood-clearance issues, however the air cleaner base interferes with the ignition shielding. I thought it was a PO add-on but apparently the NCRS judging guide shows it's correct for 71-72 LT-1's.

    C3 Radio

Bob, does this gizmo require the HK Drive and Play controller or can I just connect the iPod and use it to navigate/play over my factory radio? Thanks.

Can I get a quick opinion..........

Looks/sounds good to me. If $15k is high, it's not high by much. I'm not sure how plentiful pristine C3's are in your neck of the woods but I'd rather overpay a little to get a solid car like that now than spend the summer searching for something you might not find. Just my $.02

Squeak - possibly the speedo cable?

My cable used to squeak, varied with speed...it's stopped right around the time the speedo stopped working. It sounded like it was coming from right in front of where the passengers feet would be, next to the headers.

    Brake Pad question

"The correct solution is to have the new rotor machined in place on the axle and be done with it." Is this service widely available? It sounds pretty specialized. Mikey, thanks for the great explanation. :beer

WINTERIZING ?THIS MAY BE A SHORT WINTER ?

15 Celsius in Toronto yesterday and I couldn't wait to get home. I carefully selected a dry route and took the '72 out for a rip.

    LT-1 Fuel Line Question

Done! With a little help. Ok, a lot of help. Here's a before and after of my new/old fuel line replacement and Holley rebuild. I'm a relative newbie to the mechanic-stuff so many thanks to 'Fuelie' for helping a me through this project. Btw...it sounds even better than it looks. Too bad...

Sounds like a good find Joe! After 30 years you deserve it.

    Gas

You could try a tank of half-premium half mid-grade, then a whole tank of midgrade, then half mid-grade and half regular, then a whole tank of regular, just stop at the first sign of pinging. I tried that with my '72 last summer because I was driving it alot, I didn't get very far....nothing...

WINTERIZING ?THIS MAY BE A SHORT WINTER ?

Supposed to be 45F here in Ontario by the weekend! I was in Watertown NY on the weekend and all I can say is HOLY CRAP!!! I don't know if I've ever seen so much snow on the ground and it was coming down like crazy! Hope it warms up soon for the sake of all the good Corvette folks who are...

    Newbie Waxer Wants Help

I have one, but I haven't used it in years. I never used it on my Corvette and to tell you the truth I'm not sure that it's any easier than doing it by hand. I have found Megiars and Liquid Glass to be easy to work with and they hold up really well. It seems to me that in the hands of a...

    RADIO INSTALLATION

Speaker Resistance Hi Jeff. I'm not sure if you've already considered/dealt with this or if it even applies in the case of your particular radio, but fwiw...there's a label on my radio which indicates that the unit is designed to work with 10ohm speakers. Apparently the radio can be damaged by...

    RADIO INSTALLATION

Help with Convector installation on a '72 I'm the process of re-installing my original radio also and I don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm having difficulty with installing the convector. I can't figure out exactly where it's supposed to be mounted, I can't find two existing holes that...

    Newbie Waxer Wants Help

Thanks! The car is a blast, I've always loved the chrome sharks. http://www.liquidglass.com/ Liquid Glass is the brand name. Easy on and off. I usually do a coat in the spring, then another coat a few weeks later and that's it for the year.
