get a set of Comp Cams adjusters w/the positive locking allen screw in the top. I think they will work with the stock rockers and I know they will fit the stock covers.
On the oil leak/smoke, check the rear of the intake manifold. 'Bout the right miles to start a light leak. You may need to pull the intake and reseal it. Why always the R/H side I have no idea. Does the R/H window work from the R/H side switch and not from the driver's side switch or is it...
Many old style amp gages have been bypassed as they are a major fire hazzard. I would not recomend wiring it back into the harness. The old style amp gage required ALL the car's power to run through the gage (except starting power) and after time and use the resistance goes up due to loose, worn...
Has anyone reprogramed the car's ECM for a performance tune? OBDll cars will turn off the a/c compressor under full throttle but it should come back on when the rpms drop back to whatever the ECM sees as normal.
If you bought a roll of steel tube and straightened it out as you go, I wouldn't see why not. While never having done a 69 Vette I have done many other cars. If you are looking for Blooming Gold my guess is the body would need lifted but just to get rid of the rubber stuff I wouldn't see why it...
You can but why? Car was designed around the canister so after removal you must vent the tank and recieve the fumes the canister was designed to supress. Ever notice at car shows how the older cars smell gassy? There is no performance gain except for the removal of maybe 4lbs of "stuff".
Look around your area for a soda blasting company. Soda will not harm anything including glass and does not cut through the gelcoat (with a good operator). Soda will not even harm old Bondo.
Welcome to more fine work by Mr. Alarm installer guy. We have removed at least 10 of these things. Some one is just going to have to go through the car and remove all the switches, black box and wiring then properly repair all the spliced wires as Mr. Installer guy uses crimp-on connectors and...
Grease coming out of a greaseable Ujoint is normal. If it's a sealed unit (no fitting) then leaking grease is a sign of failure. Check for play in the joint as well as any play means time for replacement. Boom is right as the exhaust is the main roadblock and as a shop owner I understand the...
O2 sensors degrade over time and a new set does wonders for the engine, kinda like changing shocks, you don't realize how bad they are 'till the new ones are in.
Bolt shouldn't be that hard to get out since the hole is deeper that the bolt's threads and it has always been in an oil bath. In this situation a small left hand drill bit should be enough to get it out. Use a small one with the drill in reverse and it may walk the bolt out w/o any extractor...
Spill was a new well being drilled so it should not have any bearing on prices and crude is actually coming down in $$. Don't know if we'll see it at the pumps though. 93 around here is 2.87 to maybe 3.00 in remote areas.
Does your car have a transducer? It's a small box like deal with 1 cable running from the transmission to the box and 1 cable coming from the box to the speedo that controlls the cruse controll. If so it is going bad.
Pete, could also be a vacuum leak just about anywhere. Try shutting off the engine while still in gear (with your foot on the brakes-just for the ambulance chasers) as the extra load will not allow the engine to run-on.
