    Replacing C4 steering wheel

If you use an OEM wheel it will have a strike mark that alignes with a strike on the steering shaft to center the wheel. When you pull the cap off to get to the retaining nut you'll see it. If using an aftermarket wheel just be sure the wheel is dead straight befor removing the factory wheel and...

Power steering cap impossible to get to

I'm gonna guess something is slightly off. While the PS cap (and adding fluid) is a real pain with these cars, it should not require the alternator to come off. If the correct belt is on the PS pump the cap should be just in front of the alternator and a funnel with a looong tube is needed which...

    Help! '79 mystery brake problem

When you say the pedal is down to the floor, is the master cylinder empty or still full? If still full the master cylinder has an internal leak past the piston. If it's empty but no sign of leaks, look in the brake booster as they can store lots of fluid. Many brake parts "rebuilders" leave a...

    Finally Bought A "ZR1"

While your plans are most likely not to run the *&$! out of it, thanks for bringing another one back to life. It needs to "BE".

    Rear Hatch Seal

It will need to sit for 24 hours but GOOP really bonds strong and remains flexable. It will require pulling up one section to take the tension off the seal and the hatch will need to remain up till dry.

    Battery removal

Like Hib said don't remove the lower bolt just loosten it. If you are worried about scratching the paint, buy a cheap China 10mm wrench and grind about half of it away on the open end. Also please get the correct battery, don't know how many C4s we have seen with a "will fit" battery cramed into...

    does anyone sell c4 seatbelts?

I second Snake Oyl Prod. good vendor. I've used them for a few sets of collector car belts. They can also recondition the retractors if they aren't to far gone.

    Brake upgrade??

If I remember right, the 13" brakes for the ZR1 are the largest ones that will fit the 17" wheel. Check befor you buy.

Have it parked anyplace where someone might have started to pry them off? Maybe the wind just finished the job.

    A/C replacement - Need Help

Bill, while you are correct about Duracool's web site pushing their product, HC based refrigerants will soon be the new standard by the EPA as 134a is about to be phased out.

Cheapest transport method for soon to be new addition

Shipping really isn't that expensive one you look at it like you did. U Haul has gotten nuts with their prices. When my son moved back to TX from CT we bought a new small trailer for about $200.00 more than U Haul wanted for a one way rental. Still have it and it comes in handy.

Question: A few instrument cluster problems.

3&4 may be the switch for the dash lights. The dimmer function is just an old style reostat and over time they wear out. Bumps or voltage swings will cause the dash lights to go dim or bright. If you look at one the resistance unit looks somewhat like the inside of your toaster with a contact...

Cheapest transport method for soon to be new addition

Prices at U Haul may knock your sox off. They have gotten quite high. We have used Reliable and DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) both for less expensive transports of cars that could ride outside. DAS has a discount for terminal to terminal shippments rather than door to door too. Friend w/ truck...

    CRAP! Water in the oil!

If you only had water in it, no antifreeze, I would just fix the problem, after finding out WHY the gasket let go, and use it. If you had antifreeze in the cooling system, needs to come back out and into the hot tank again.

    1993 ZR-1 For Sale - Only $4,000 - CHECK IT OUT!!

Yep, I contacted them and seller resent the VIN which IS a "P" code so it's a standard LT1 car. They also lowered the price to $3,500.00 with out being asked to and will complete the deal through eBay 'cause they "don't have time to mess with it". All I need to do is send them the money! Price...

    1993 ZR-1 For Sale - Only $4,000 - CHECK IT OUT!!

Although the "J" is missing from the VIN. I wrote the guy and asked for a shot of the engine compartment and told him I would take it if it is a Z. For 4K it would be dumb no to. If it is a Z and I pick it up, I'll make some one a REALLY good deal on the wheels:-)

Question: How do you put together a reasonable price?

Well if you don't want to get involved with it and the price is right I might be willing to come get it and offer Ya a couple hundred mark up to cover your time. Our 92 (Rose since she is a BlackRose) was one of those Zs that had a horrible life. When a friend bought her she needed a starter...
