Well I see Zippy is still zipping around in his car so here are a few more impressions on the interior.
The driveline tunnel is very noticible cooler. I wonder what they did there? Also I really like the look of the gauges. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/tlaplante/gauges.jpg

All my salesperson had to say was 400 hp 6 speed Z 51 and my reply was I'll take it. Actually I went there to purchase a Z06 CE. But it did not take much to turn my attention away from the Z. My wife did not like the louder car with less storage. And we both like the mag red, same as my C5.
Driving at night on a dark street the headlights do a excellent job of lighting the road ahead but what is really cool is the way it lights up both shoulders of the road, now you have very good visability of what might be just off the road. It does this by just illuminating the bottom few feet...
Well since Zippy has disappeared from the face of the earth, I'll give you my first impression. First I like the new run flats there is alot less road noise, there alot like my Toyo Proxes tires. The hud is whole lot more visable in strong sunlight and the lateral G force meter is cool. However...
If it is anything like my gm bra you have to remove the factory screws and the clips they screw into then you should have rubber inserts that your machined bra screws will fit.
The folding tab does not fit into anything it justs hooks around the wheel well.
Also keep your condenser / radiator area clear of debris. And make sure your engines cooling system is in good condition and is getting rid of the engines heat. If it isn't it can cause your ac system to operate at higher pressures which will put more of a strain on your compressor.
I've got them and really like them. However, I did get a nail in one tire out west last fall and spotted it just before heading out into the middle of nowhere. I guess you realize they are not run flats.

The electric fan is operated by a temp sensor on the passenger side of the engine. you can test the fan easily enough by unplugging it and supply 12 volts to it. The plug is along the fender well near the compressor. I think the sensor turns on the fan somewhere around 230. What I'm not sure of...
I had to replace my blower housing box this winter. While I did this I also removed and cleaned the evap core as well as check the heater core and bypass door for a good seal. I was not looking at it with the intent of removing the core but I believe if I had to remove it, it could be done from...
The icon is called a Fluer de Lys. I'm sure if you do a search you can find a larger version to copy although you may come across some stylised versions. What is depicted in the crossed flags is a very simple version.
One thing I do is when the clutch is about 3/4 of the way out I hold it for about a 1/2 second then you can quickly release it the rest of the way. Never get any bounce that way.

I had been driving work vans and pickups all my life. Even our family vehicles were vans or pickups. After 30 years I couldn't take it anymore I was either going to get a sports car or go insane thinking about it. The problem I had was finding a car that the wife did not think was to small. She...
