i bought my float charger at walmart and it is a american made "schumacher" which cost about $20. it has run continuously for over 4 years with no problem
i just leave the hood unlatched during winter storage so i have easy acess to the battery but i use a float charger so i should not need to open the hood.

i used a GM bra on 3 different C-5 and a GM bra on 1 C-6 with no damage. i never saw a flapping corner on the C-6. i have seen some owners cut off the tabs that go in next to the headlights because they were hard to install. all you need is a piece of plastic from a milk bottle slid in first and...
with the cost of these,$500 you might as well install the the clear bra for a few $$$ more and don't have to go thru all the trouble of putting it on and taking it off

GM is hoping that the price of gasoline keeps going up because if gasoline is under $3.00 a gallon the car will be a hard sell at $20K. if gasoline stays under $3.00 a gallon all small cars will be a tough sell.
the GT-2 race corvettes already run direct injection. after the other makes in their class bitched about it because corvette was not to use the DI till 2010 they ran the last races with port injection.
GM had to change their injectors to dry type because of this, the ethanol attacked the insulation on the wire used to make the coils. any type of alky is a solvent and will disolve many things.
