    Tire options

C Dogg, the Firestone Firehawk run-flat is a nice choice, it is alot, alot more quiet than the GY and handles damm well too. It's pretty good in the rain and on sunny days it has excellent grip. It's also cheaper than the GY EMT's. You can see them at: www.tirerack.com Hope this helps.... Herbie

    Bump Steer?

BA2, thanks! I am going to go with 4 brand new ones, so I can track the progress from the very beginning. You see, I bought this car pre-owned with 15,500 miles on it. What I will do is probably sell off the run-flats.... Herbie

    Bump Steer?

BA2, Thanks for your reply. You know, just yesterday I got an alignment, and it still happens. It follows ruts and creases in the road and you have to hold on to the steering wheel and fight it off. Damn annoying.Seems like Torchy 2000 had the same problem and it went away with new tires. He...

    Bump Steer?

Okay, everybody, here is the deal. The end links on the 2002 Z-06 are indeed different that the Z-51's. On the Z-51 you get two plastic and two metal. On the 2002 Z-06 end links they are all metal and you don't need a TX-40(torx) to get them out or in. The part number for the 2002 is 10435298...

    I'm a test pilot!

Vettepilot, okay lets see if I got this. Does it mean there's no tire pressure monitors in the Z-06? How about this option. Carry one of those things they use to repair flats that looks like a big needle ? I think they call it a plug. I remember seeing this at Discount Auto Parts. Wouldn't that...

Torchy2000, saw them tires at tirerack.com, just like you said, 630.00 will get it done. Same tire, eagle F1-GS non-runflat. Glad you like them! Keep us posted on how they run. Enjoy! Herbie

    I'm a test pilot!

Torchy2000, what kind of GY tires were they? The steering thing cured? That's great man. My car does the same thing, pulling off intrusively. I also live in Florida(Miami) so I know what you mean about the ruts in the road. Everytime I go over one it's an adventure. Herbie

    Bump Steer?

Vettepilot, glad you got them. I did notice that all the springs, bushings, shocks etc were all listed. You were right, the springs are stiffer. The shocks are larger. I wonder if I should use the Z-51 shocks or go with Bilsteins. What do you think? Also, I noticed in a different thread that...

    Bump Steer?

Vettepilot, hope you had a great weekend. Do you know how to send a attachment on this thing? I hit the browse buton on the reply post and attempted to attach a text file but? If you have a fax nuber I will fax it to you . I think the springs that you mentioned are here also. I will try...

    Bump Steer?

Vettepilot, thanks again for the reply. I beleive I saw the part numbers for the Z-51 bars on the C5 Registry, along with the end links, bushings etc. The shocks were listed there also, but there was no mention of the Z-06 components. I have attached it here as a HTML file, which I don't know if...

    Bump Steer?

Thanks Vettepilot. That seems to be the normal consensus so far so I think I will just live with it. Just the same, I am going to check the alignment, just in case. I really love the car alot and just want what's best for my baby. Thanks for your input! P.S. ON another note, do you think I...

    Bump Steer?

Motorman, I haven't done anything to the car. It does zig-zag sometimes left, sometimes right. But if your on a good flat clean surface, the car goes perfectly straight. Weird..... Herbie
