    Compression Ratio

Hey guys, I talked with the man doing my engine work today. I have a 383 ci power plant that until now has been using the stock 350 heads. I am going to install a set of cast iron World Sportsman II heads with 200 cc runners, 64 cc chambers. My engine guy tells me that these heads with my bore...

    Dynomax /Walker Headers???

Hey Billyvette, I can't speak about the Hookers (the headers anyway) but I am very pleased with my Dynos. I have the 1 5/8" and installation was a breeze. The engine compartment though still hot is cooler than it was with the stock manifolds. The price was good and the coating after one season...

    1975 tach switch

msd boxes Hey Jack, thanks for the info. I had heard about the reliability concerns of the msd boxes. If I go with the '75 tach I probably will forgo the box. An old hot rodder in town suggested using one with my original dist. as a good upgrade for the '74s ignition. Any suggestions on a high...

    68 Tachometer

Hey dnewton, There are HEI dist. made with a tach drive, but they are very expensive. Another option is going back to the original set up add a msd 6al, blaster coil, and mallory points and you have a great ignition system. In my humble opinion, of course. peace. Bud

    Buying first Corvette

Where to buy Hey Ds, two years ago I decided I was going to buy my vette. I looked locally and found some decent cars, but I also had to have an L82 with 4 speed trans. I found mine on ebay. The key to buying anything is being aware of the true value of the item. I bid my top price and ended up...

    1975 tach switch

Hey, guys, has anyone swapped the tach out of a '74 and installed a '75? I am wanting to install a HEI dist. and not pay the high dollars that go with one that has a mechanical drive. Is there a modem or such on the tach that receives the signal from the dist. or is it all enclosed. Thanks for...

    Carb question

Hey Tom, thanks for the info. There is no way that stock 350 cid engine can use 750 cfm. One of the big mistakes many of us make is throwing a intake and carb setup that the heads and cam can't handle. My question was for my brother who is looking for a new carb for his jeep. The adjusting...

Hey guys, I have finally taken the rest of the a/c out of the torque monster. I have the compressor, radiator, main rubber hoses, alum hose with electrical connector, and condensor. I did not open up the firewall and remove the internal unit. Will sell or trade. peace Bud :cool

Crate Engine Question? would you trust it?

Beware Hey guys, BEWARE of anyone selling on ebay without a ton of positive feedback!!! I have a friend that has lost money twice, yes twice, to lowlifes representing themselves as "new to ebay." Each time the offer was to good to be true and guess what? It was. Very little can be done once...

    Carb question

Hey guys, in the specs for the carb on a 1974 L-82 all it says is 1x4 bbl roechester. Does anyone know the rated cfm? Thanks for any info. peace Bud

What does it take to bypass a 81 computer?

Hey John, auto trans. or manual? Are emissions an issue? I did this with an 3rd generation Trans Am with great success. A HEI vac. advance distributor and aftermarket carb with either manual or electric choke. Other than that and a piece of black electrical tape to cover up the check engine...
