Im from the 68 - 82 forum. My friend has a 85 Vette and she just got a new glass top. Last one was stolen. She says its not fitting correctly. The top is off by a 8th of an inch on the drives side. The other corners fit ok. Do these to break in(flex)? Should it be left in the sun?
The leaks are most likely from rot in the window frame.
My temporary fix: Dont drive in the rain and dont wash the top of the car with water. My new interior hasn't gotten wet yet.
Corvettes, you got to love them to have them.
My car was a total mess. Rear pass side was almost 4 inches higher than the drivers front. I yanked the bastard steel leaf spring and put in a VBP composite spring. My car sits level and rides like a Caddy on the highway. Btw, yes the leaf spring was semi new only five years old.
I received the fact five brochure a month ago. I saw the article in my brothers mustang mag. I would love to have a Cobra with 500hp sitting in my garage that I built myself. I even thought of selling my Vette to get it. No, the Vette stays. I cant do it. Ill have to find the $20 g's elsewhere...
I use Red Line 5w-30 because it is thin and free's up a little horses.
Now, here is a good question. I understand thinner oil will flow better upon start up in the winter. But after start up, the engine will run at operating temperature say 200 degrees. Now how does the engine know at...
I did the 700R4 swap in the spring. I ordered it from 700R4.com. I have no problems. It cost $1900 for everything(parts). I drive the heck out of my car. If my car was for weekend fun I wouldnt have done it. I would have concentrated on the engine more. I did the swap for cruising.

Very nice paint. I have a question, how come you didnt take the front and rear clips off. Im asking because I plan on doing the paint on mine next fall. Did you sand down to the original primer or to the fiberglass. Very nice job.
I had a nasty shake at 75mph. I needed new tires. The shake is gone. Just this morning I did 90mph for a few miles. It rides fine. If your tires are near done get new ones. If not it is most likely a balance problem.
I put the longer cable in. So far so good. After a few months I still stare at the speedo while im driving. In the 7 yrs ive owned my vette I think the poly front bushings was the best investment. I still feel the difference after 3 yrs.
I installed a new GM Goodwrench engine. I use Red-Line 5w-30 synthetic oil and AC Delco plugs. I used the other spark plugs years ago. There is no difference in performance. I recently read in a article that the Red- Line oil showed a 8hp/12ftlbs increase over other oils (dyno).
I had a similar problem. It was the ground wire near the drivers side muffler. My problem was the gas gauge would go to Full when I let off the brake. When I would press the brake the rear lights would alternate back and forth.
