Check out this link here on CAC. Get an i-Simple from Double D Mod's, plugs right in to factory harness. Ez Pz :thumb I've used the i-simple too, it works awesome!! The folks at Double D Mod's will hook you up when you call'em. Tell them what you have and what you are trying to do, and they will...

    History check

I just talked with my buddy here at GM. I gave him your VIN, and he's going to get me a VIS report tomorrow. :thumb When I get it, I'll scan it in my computer and email it to you. That's the best I'll be able to help :beer

    History check

I just realized your car was imported FROM the United States. I thought you had it imported TO the US, which I thought was odd....why's a guy buying a Vette and bringing it here?? Why not just get one that's here already?? I'm on the same page now! You should be able to do a title history...

What gas brand is favored for Vettes?

Maybe cause this thread is 9 1/2 years old?? "I just called an arco station in wa. state and they said they don't have TOPTIER, however thiers a thread here that sez it does, whats up with that????" If you're referring to the post on page 1 that mentions the 'top tier' by GM etc, I think...

    History check

You can also get a hold of your local GM service department. They can get you a VIS report. This will tell you anything that's been done to it (warranty, recalls, etc). I don't know if it's just the GM dealers records or not. My buddy at GM give's me a report on every GM I've bought (he pulls...

What gas brand is favored for Vettes?

I've been using Shell religiously since '07 in my vehicles, until 2 months ago. My 1994 and 2000 Cadillac Deville's said 91% octane only. But when I'd use the higher octane, the mileage would drop from 25-27 on the highway to 21, in town would drop from 19 to 15, they would ping, knock, smoke...

    '04 chewing up batteries

I threw the charger on the 86PG before putting it in the car. It showed immediately 90%, and after about 2 minutes, was at 100%. I went ahead and stuck it in. I've noticed will all the batteries I've put in, the little holder thing at the base of the battery tightens up, but yet the battery...

    '04 chewing up batteries

Hey everyone. My C5 is chewing up batteries. I purchased my Vette in Sept 2012 with 48k on the odometer, and a brand new Duralast (Autozone brand) already installed. January 18, 2013 49765 miles, I had to install a new battery...this time the AC Delco 86PG. Sept '12 48,5xx miles... New...

Help! Electrical issues with LS door lock/unlock, windows, and memory switches.

I was told that this issue is usually caused by the harness connectors...the body side harness and the door side harness. I've had this issue since last fall with my '04. Sometimes everything works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't figured out how to take the door panel off without breaking...

External antenna mount for HAM radio

Hey there KPIC, I looked at the C5 this evening and antenna bracket mounting scenarios. Mounting to directly above the license plate doesn't seem like that good of an idea. I didn't realize it's just that thin piece of rear facia, and that it was all hollow behind there! So, looking at your...

External antenna mount for HAM radio

Hey there Hib! I'm planning on having a basic antenna for 2m/440. It'll prolly be a Diamind Antenna, 17" +/-. I'm not gonna be DXing while in the C5, so I'm needing something just to get me out from the cabin of the car. I just got the Yaesu FT-60R hand held from Ham Radio Outlet, along with...

External antenna mount for HAM radio

I recently attained my amateur radio license, so I'm looking at different ways to mount an antenna on the C5. Obviously with the car being fiberglass, a magnetic mount isn't going to be an option. I've seen the CB antenna mounts that attach on the top side of the rear license license plate, but...

    Cell Phone Mount

..."while your installation is nice it's not quite what I had in mind"... As I stated, it's a suction cup windshield mount...there's no installation required...what did you expect??, ya suction it to the windshield. ;shrug I wouldn't want anything blocking one of my vents. This thing is hot...

    Cell Phone Mount

This mount is specifically for my Droid. When I put it in the cradle, it turns my display sideways, turns on my GPS and music files, etc. You can get a universal suction cup mount from Walmart, Advance Auto etc. for $15-$30

    Cell Phone Mount

I put mine in the cup holder....yeah, the ONLY cup holder. After all, is it allowed to eat or drink in a Vette? :ugh I have the Motorola Droid with the windshield suction cup mount. When I'm feeling all 'techy', I put the phone it in and stick it to the center of the windshield just above the...

2003 won't start sometimes, wait 2 minutes then starts

Could it possibly be a loose power or ground wire? Ya know, just loose enough that it's not making good connection and not getting a strong enough current to the starter to turn it over? That'd be my next area to look. But if they changed the starter, they probably had the battery disconnected...

    Curb Rash

I thought that was 67Vet's ride at first :ugh Glad I read the posts. I sure hope he learns where 'to stop' in the future... The first time I let my sister (who drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee) drive my C5 and park it, I told her 'stop'...had I not, she woulda put the steer tires right up to the...
