    Anyone have any experience with replacing the ignition switch on a 72 coupe with tilt/ telescopic? I have the 72 shop manual but only have replaced switches on non-tilt steering columns.

    correct center caps for a 72?

    I have 2 sets of center caps.One cap has 3925805 GW 552504 ( HB in a hexagon) and Canada stamped around the center with 2 79 near the center. The other has 2504 directly in the center with K.D. below this number and 2 79 around the center edge. Which one is correct for a 72. Are they both...

    Looking for Vette parts shops in Florida

    We will be going to Fort Meyers about 1 to 1.5 hours from Ft. Lauderdale. We don't have alot of vette shops here in Ontario and the ones I usually get parts from flatten my wallet....... so any good shops with fair pricing in or around Florida (or even along the I-75) would be worth the drive.

    Correct code for 72 rally rims?

    What is the correct code stamped on the rally rims for an early 72 coupe? The code I have now is GM K-1-6 stamped on the front of the rim with K 1 also stamped,( just opposite the K-1-6). Are center caps and trim rings coded too? Thanks for any help!!!!!

    parting out a 71 and a 72 corvette

    Hi I need the very bottom plastic air duct that is directly behind the radio.It has 2 snorkels that point one to the drivers floor and the other to the passengers floor mat area. Also need the center cardboard compartment behind the seats with the light in it. Thanks for your help.

    dropped motor changing mounts

    My luck....While I was changing the drivers side motor mount the hoist broke and the big block fell about 4" ( approx. the thickness of the mount ) on the empty motor mount frame. Looks like most pressure got the exhaust headers but not sure if the front crank pully hit the frame or anything...

    71 heater core R&R

    Lots of patience!!!!:confused . Your best bet is to get a manual ( original or Hayes).I did my 72 big block and it comes out from inside so a ton of things need to be removed ( console, radio, etc.). Be carful with the Bowden cables as you don't want to bend them.I worked about 8 to 10 hours...

    Need a new 9 leaf rear spring but heard about ride height being affected after the new spring is installed ( back end up too high) . Prefer to have stock look with the small curved edges on the ends. Who has the best spring at the best price?

    Distributor question

    I was told that the small block and big block tach drive distributors are the same just the small aluminum band at top of the shaft stamped with the part number was the only difference. Is this true?? Will it fit and perform the same on any 68-74 small and big blocks?

    Original Car Alarm

    I repaired by fixing the alarm wires in the drivers side wheel well ( inside the frame bolt cover) . They had shorted together from heat/rubbing.Probably from too many burnouts!!!!!

    Help! 72 Won't Start

    I had the same problem. I checked and had spark from the plug but found out it wasn't enough to fire the engine. I replaced the ballast resistor to the coil and solved the problem.

    factory floor mats?

    Did the 72 come from the factory with floor mats or was this a dealer option? Did the mats have the cross flag logo and were they black or semi clear vinyl? Any help greatly appreciated!

    WTB shoulder belt retainer

    Need 1 black shoulder harness belt retainer (stops belt from pulling through seat back slot). I think the lap belt has the same shape and size retainer too. Thanks.

    BUZZER hidden in HORN RELAY

    Mine wouldn't turn off and found that the buzzer/relay fine wire inside was cooked.I tried to resolder but the rest of the wire was too brittle.I found the exact same buzzer/relay in a 70 Caddillac at a wrecking yard for $5.Works great now.

    Rochester carb

    I don't have any pics for you but I just bought a rebuilt 7042216 and the choke pull off is totally different than the 7041212 that is on the car now.Both work the same but the rod to the choke thermo coil ( on manifold) needs to be reconfigured/adjusted.
