    LPTWS damage during tire installation

I, too, have had trouble with a Goodyear tire store breaking the pressure sensors. Same deal, they tried to say it was broken before they worked on it. Eventually, after much pain, they bought and installed a new sensor. As a result, though, I went to another tire chain for this last set. I...

    Went topless today!

Well, it was threatening rain today, so I left the top on, but what a glorious drive up Mulhulland Drive it was! It was like a mobile car show! Vettes, Porches, Ferraris, and a bunch of vintage sports cars, including a '30's Bentley! And everybody was waving! God, I love driving this car!

    5w-30 or10w-30?

Pep Boys Calendar By the way, I picked up a couple of the calendars this weekend, and those coupons are good until 12/31/05! Combine the Mobile1 coupon with the Purolator PureOne coupon, and it's a pretty good deal!

    Rain - what Rain?

I also drive my car every day. Makes going to work at least bearable, and the drive home even more fun! Part of the joy of ownership for me is getting the car out for a little drive on Sunday mornings, then spending a few hours washing it all up nice and shiny for the next week. Drive ‘em...

    Clutch Master/Slave Cylinder?

    Thanks for the info. Barry

    Clutch Master/Slave Cylinder?

OK, folks, I just had this same thing happen- trouble shifting, clutch grabbing just millimeters off the floorboard. Checked the reservoir, and sure enough it was low. Topped it off and everything's good again. Here's my question though- there's a rubber hat-looking thing under the cap that...

    Rear Wheel Bearings- brands?

They were grey, but I'm sorry to say I can't remember who made them. I'll find out next week when I pull them off! The only distinguishing thing about them was that the wheel studs weren't the same as the stock ones. They didn't have the little un-threaded bit on the ends. Barry

    Rear Wheel Bearings- brands?

About seven months ago, I put the Pep Boys rear wheel bearings on my car. This weekend, I will be replacing them, as they are already shot! I ordered the AC Delco bearings from Ecklers. In the case of rear wheel bearings on Corvette's it would seem that you get what you pay for! :cry

LT4 Why does it seem there are so many CE LT4's for sale?

I've toyed with the idea of selling my CE, but it has nothing to do with the later model Corvettes. I've had my CE for a little over a year now, and am getting to the point where I want to start modifying it. But I hate to modify it, 'cause it seems that a CE should stay stock, if you know...

Progressing Loss of Power at Low Revs

Another way to check for a blown-out cat is that the canister will cool much quicker than one that is functioning correctly. Barry

Where to mount the oil cooler?

Wow! That's some great feedback, folks! A couple of you mentioned the larger-capacity oil pan, with windage trays and baffels to hold the oil around the pump pickup. Can the pan be changed out without raising the engine? I was just under there, but can't remember what it looks like! I also...

Where to mount the oil cooler?

Has anyone mounted an aftermarket engine oil cooler at the back of the car? Bear with me here. I spent the weekend at a track event at Willow Springs Raceway out in the Mojave Desert here in sunny, hot Southern California. The air temp on the track was around 107 degrees! I wound up having to...

    What is this hose?

I believe that is the vent hose for the Optispark. Being mounted in the intake like that, I believe there is a small vacuum on it, which vents moisture from the Opti.

Legal High Speed Run In Nevada! Be There

Ya know, speaking of sound, I have an in-car video set up that works pretty well, but I can't get decent sound. Anybody know what kind of mic I should be using? Right now I'm using a cheesy little mic that came with the CCD video head I bought. Sorry for the side-track... Barry

Rear Wheel Bearings hard to do?

I just did mine a month ago, and agree with what has been said about getting to those three bolts. It's do-able, just needs some patience. I believe the torque setting for that big spindle bolt is 160 ft/lb. When you go to get the new torque wrench, also make sure you have the correct size...

    Wheel Bearing

I just did mine. It's a 36mm socket. I was surprised how relatively easy it was to do. I finished both sides in about three hours. Of course, the first one took two hours, the second was much faster! Barry

    Large Crickett

I had a similar noise coming from that same area. I finally tracked it down to the clear plastic lens that covers all the gauges. It was rubbing against the black plastic gauge housing. Until I get around to taking the dash apart, I just inserted a small piece of rubber insulation between...
