    Paint job prices?

2,000 won't get you an Earl Shibe/MAACO paint on a fiberglass body today. I spent 2,400 in 1983 to paint my '71. It would cost over 10,000 to paint it today.

Your goal is to remove the radio? That the bezel [center consol] must be removed to afford the removal is dead on. You should also remove the the passenger side dash[more room, easy] Not EASY 2 3/8" nuts which bolt the bezel to the shift consol. You have to remove BOTH [driver/passenger] side...

What Are The Symptoms For Low Rear-End Fluid?

On the contrary, mon freres, [was forced to take french]. If you have a limited slip rear, it will cause wierd sh-t in your steering feel. It kinda feels like front tires are floating. If you look at your rear tire while sitting your drivers seat and realize just how close you are to the rear...

I have a '71 BB. The ride height is good, maybe 1.5" above the wheel. Research this site and the Forum and FAQ for "ride height" posts before replacing that rear leaf. BTW mine is a stock 9 leaf spring.

    Instrument Panel Lights - Help!

Sounds like you have no ground going to you inst. cluster. Try clipping a wire from the NEG terminal of the battery to the metal housing of the inst cluster. If the lights come on look for an empty spade connector on the housing and then look for a lonely looking Black wire with a spade terminal...

Need Help with Radio Bezel/Interior Dash

The center bez is held in by the screws on both its sides and the screw at the top, above the wiper switch. Remove the pass side dash. There are 2 3/8's nuts that hold the bezel to the center console that are a MF to get at/out. You have to remove the radio to get at them. That should allow the...

    Steering wanders, looking for ideas

Try tightening your pin in the steering box. Follow your steering shaft out of the firewall. It goes into a black steel box with a nut held screw. Back off the locknut and turn the screw clockwise while you turn the steering wheel. The dead zone in your wheel should decrease.Watch your front...

    69 Front Speakers ??

Re-did my total interior last winter. Had the car stripped to the firewall. Left the upper dash in place but had the bottom exposed. 4X6 was the speaker that fit the most holes in the glass underside. I can say from using it all summer, the kick panels supply the most sound. I get good stereo...

    69 Front Speakers ??

Don't think you have speaker grills in your '69 dash. 4X6's fit under my '71's dash and I added another set of 4X6's behind the kick panels like the pre 70's had. The real music comes from the sidepipes.

    Radiator overflow. Why?

Quote "I haven't touched anything on the cooling system since the major work except to remove the useless overflow tank". HINT The OVERFLOW TANK has a purpose, it collects gas pressurized liquids within the limits of your radiator cap. If you excede the cap PSI with trapped gas press you get...

Help Needed: Thumping Noise from Rear Wheel

I hit a pot hole and broke the driverside 1/2 shaft years ago. Upon replacing it, I found that the universal joints were BOUND. Meaning that if the tire goes airborne the universal joints on the 1/2 shaft will break. They cant flex a full wheel turn with the wheel off the ground. I have a '71...

    what is this ??

I don't know. If you are trying to get your wipers to work, the wiper door must be sensed closed before it will open; the door must be sensed open before the wipers will move. The by-pass switch BYPASSES these switches and opens the wiper door. There is timing involved also. I just use the...

    I Finally Found It !!

For > 2Yrs I've heard this mutted ring sound when going over a moderate bump. The sound seemed to come from the rear. Many friends who have driven the car said the same. Turns out the clang was coming from the fairing around the drivers side headlights. 1 metal screw was missing[outboard] and...

    what is this ??

These are the Manual over-rides for your Headlights ; Windshield Wiper Door and Windshield Wipers. They are used to change Headlights and Wiper blades. The Knob in the center stalls the Wipers so you can replace them. I think the pull down switch to the right of the knob stalls the Headlights up...
