I already did the 700R4 in the Vette. Im picking up a chevy Pick up truck and would like to put in the T-400 that came out of my Vette. I think the truck has a T-350 and the mount is different. Ill call around later. Thanks
I found the vac hose that goes to the valve. It was burned from the exhaust. I spliced it and hooked her up. My interior temp. dropped. No more oven riding. Isnt life with Vettes grand? Thanks Guys. Anyone going to Englishtown for the Show and Go?
How is the launch with the 3.55's. Can you get traction? I purchased all the tranny components from BTO. The hardest part was setting the TV cable. What meathod of cooling did you use. I have a aftermarket into the radiator. It works pretty good. How does the tranny shift under normal throttle...
Nice pics Scott81! :)
You just gave me flashbacks. I wasnt fortunate enough to have a car lift. How nice is that crossmember! I was thinking of going with the 3.55 gears also. What are your RPMS at 70mph with those gears.
Go to the thread that reads 700R4 conversion driveshaft installation. There is a bunch of info to read about the swap. The tranny I bought came from Bowtie Overdrives. They say that their trannys are from 88-92 Vettes.
As for gas mileage I tried doing a highway mileage test. The only problem...
Ill try to get some pics. It may be a week. He has had it about 3 yrs. He put on 12,000 miles. The only thing he had touched was the valve cover gaskets, plugs and power steering hose. AS far as the rest of the car the only thing I saw that was modified is the VBP rear strud rods.
If I didnt...
I figured it out. The cable needle that goes into the speedo had backed out. The easiest fix would be to take the cable off at the tranny, push in the other end of the needle and then hook up a drill and spin it in reverse to see if it works. Thats what worked for me.
I just went out to the garage and looked at the speedo. Mine is sitting right on zero.
You were right about the gap between 10 and 30 mph. I thought it would be the cable but its not.
I had her up to 120mph and it didnt bounce yet.
ITS A MIRACLE IT WAS ONLY $57. IM HAPPY.
Try www.700R4.com. They have a calculator for what your looking for. I installed a 700R4 about month ago and im running about 200rpms higher than the calculator. 75mph comes in at about 2100rpms. At 3000rpms im doin about 105ish. I also think that the rear ratio is actually 3.07 but dont quote...
