    Mid year prices

I have just acquired my first C2 ( I have a C1 also:v) and believe these cars (both drivers) will hold their value and appreciate over time. The prices I saw at Carlysle in August were up a lot over just a couple of years ago. The key to me is keeping these beauties clean, well maintained...

Solid Axle Leak - Need Information

Thanks for the input Tom. I have considered a similiar approach. If you take a close look at the dimple it is centered around the drain plug, couple of inches or more from the lip. I thought pulling the axles and using a power tool inserted into the housing might distort the join further. I...

    Radiator replacement

We all know that heat kills, engines that is. I'm running hot (210 to 215) at highway speeds and have done all the standard stuff...new sending unit, measured resistance on the leads, IR'ed the thermostat etc. Car is 180 in town in traffic. Now, I am considering replacing the radiator with a...

Why do C1 and C2 have to "share"?

Grandpa get's nor respect, just the hot babes! I like the C1/C2 combination. Those of us restoring the true classics need the shoulder of sympathetic listeners. I'm torn between the Split and my 61 coupe. Two of the most classic, classics IMHO. We old guys just need to recruit more contributors.

A couple of weeks ago I had a flat tire on my 61. Had to call for roadside help since I have not (stupid me) taken the time to get a jack. It has only been 8 years! Anyway it was raining and the guy that showed up used a hydralic jack under the rear axle center to lift the car.:r You guessed...

1961 temp & fuel gauge problems

http://www.corvettespecialtiesofmd.com/faq/faq1.html :cool Good faq article about sending units. These guys specialize in gauge restorations and have a pretty solid reputation. My 61 started the same type of behavior when I swapped out the sending unit for a new one. Have since replaced it...

Running a short to ground (no pun intended)

Just got a 61 beauty and the battery died after sitting for 4 days. Replaced it and the new one died after 2 weeks. Using a 12 volt tester I removed the ground and jumped the ground back to the neg terminal with the ignition off. Got a positive indicator of current flow. Next checked the...
