I lived in the Chicago area from 66 to 70 and here are some dealerships around then. BTW, I drove my 63 Corvette all those years too. Only had the door lock punched out once, but when they saw the aircraft tie down chain around every steering wheel spoke, emergency brake, foot brake and...
I spoke to Ron at Flaming River while at the Hot Rod Restoration show. He said that the non power rack and pinion for Corvette was done and installed on his 73 Vette, but that he wasn't going to put it on the market until they could also provide a power unit. He said that it could be 6 months...
I read an article sometime ago about Ardun heads that mentioned a representative from Chrysler was a frequent visitor to Duntov during his design period. Hmmmm. This went unreported until the writer interviewed the person that was doing the drawing for Zora. He had gone unnoticed for years...
The spokes on original KO wheels are slightly tapered toward the outside rim. The rim edge where you would put a wheel weight are slightly thicker on the repro wheels.

Maybe Goodyear goldlines were different than the Firestones, but my original goldlines are 1.25" from the rim and the stripe is 5/16", or just slightly smaller, but larger than 1/4".

You might consider spraying Oxysolv to remove the rust instead of a wire wheel. I've had good luck using that to remove light rust on other things.

I'm not sure where I heard this, but someone told me that Steeroids lessen your turning radius and increase toe steer. Has anyone noticed this to be an annoyance or problem?
Flaming river is the process of making a rack and pinion steering (non-power I think) for our cars and I was told that...
I bought a gallon of the a/c coil cleaner and tried it on some aluminum I didn't care about. If you use it full strength, it might turn your aluminum a milky white, it did mine. You may want to experiment different dilution solutions to come up with one that works well. I think you can...
Several years ago some folks tried to sell a magazine called Sharks I think. It was devoted to the shark years, but I haven't seen it for years.

This is a Father/Daughter project on the 72 LT-1 she drove while at college. Not sure we will be finished in time for photoshoot though.

There is an orange LT-1 coupe on the front and rear cover of the Feb/Mar 1970 Corvette News. There is also an article on driving it in the January snow written by Karl Ludvigsen, including several pictures, one of which is of when he slid the car off the road into a snowbank. The...

I sent a note about my hardtop to Carlton Colclough on Jan. 5th, but never heard back from him. Guess no one likes change.

PS My 54 has the month February handwritten in pencil under the dash on the fiberglass.

As best as I can remember, when you get the top chrome off, there are some screws that go thru the top of the windshield from the front. I had to resist my tendacy to pry. The screws were hard to see under goop and rust, but they are there.

I "think" i have a 68 Camaro dual master cylinder that I took off of a junked car back when my gas line burst, but I think it had disk brakes on it.

Years ago I bought a 65 barn car that someone had shimmed up the spring on the oil pump so much that when I started it, the gauge pegged and would not return. I sent the gauge to one of the clock and gauge rebuilders and he fixed it by taking guts from another gauge and used my gauge...

I think I know the sound you are describing and believe it is derived from the compression, the specs of the cam used and the lack of a crossover in the intake manifold and/or the lack of an H or X pipe in the exhaust. That lets you hear EACH cylinder fire, although at the expense of...
John or anyone...
Is there any reason that the 67 dual master cylinder would NOT work on a 63 or 64 drum brake car? Years ago I was lucky in that with each car the brake line bursting happened in the driveway after I had bled the brakes and was checking the pedal.
For any of you that still...

Go to the hardware store and buy 4 or 5 feet of clear flexible hose with 3/8" id. Put one end in the bottom of the tank, letting it droop down over the back of the deck to about the bumper height. Standing up suck on the hose until gas comes up out of the tank and your can see it as it...

If the engine ignition timing is not set correctly, that can cause hard starting.
If that is correct then I would think that the starter is your problem.
