    Gas mileage

You could install a Honda in your driveway right next to the Vette. I have the fast burn heads on my 383 with a Qjet, it gets poop for MPG. TH400 doesn't help it either. And of course my foot is in fact made from solid lead.

    Fake "Aged" Tank Build Sheets?

My neighbor makes name plates, I'm going to ask him if he can make one up for my shift plate on the center console with the ZZ383 stats on it. This could be one rare L48 car when I'm done!

    Fake "Aged" Tank Build Sheets?

I want one of those! But I want all of my not quite stock stuff written in as RPO. I bet I could convince a few that the 383 is stock with that as proof.

    Who repairs speedometers?

1969's had design problems with the speedo and tach. It took a good number of years for speedo guys to figure out a permanent cure. I'm sure plenty of shops can repair the speedo's, just be sure which ever you pick is old enough to know what the issues were (if you own a car that was never...

    Who repairs speedometers?

If you have to send it out, these guys are honest. They've repaired my speedo and tach. Gail's Speedometer Service. 187 E 16th St. Costa Mesa, CA 92627 (949) 646-9120 I didn't check to see if the phone number is correct, but the address looks right. Owners names are Tim and Mike. Don't...

    ZZ383?

The $5,000 ZZ383 will cost you $10,000 after you update the brakes, exhaust, transmission, recore the radiator, buy an intake, go through the suitcase (as long as you got the motor out) and as long as you're at it a R134a conversion :W... So, $20,000 if the wife gets the full scoop. But since...

    what a pretty c3

That's some low mileage! Personally I would have found the correct Battery gauge when replacing the original on an 18 mile car. The mileage difference on Odo vs. the trip set is funny. The chrome is worn off the ignition key. That really looks like one fine restored Vette! Very nice...

Question: Subwoofer in the back of C3

No pics, the amps and tuner were stashed in the right side storage box. I made a custom lid for the right side box and the tuner came up cleanly throught the lid with the amps stored below. (Who needs the stinking jack anyway) The false bulk head worked out great, I could have put a small...

Question: Subwoofer in the back of C3

I cut a piece wood out that fit in the back and created a false wall, it sat forward of the rear bulkhead by 4" or 6" or something like that. I lenthend the wire on the luggage compartment light and put a plug on the wire for easy access to removing the panel. I put open air type speakers on...

    ZZ383?

The Thorleys (now known as Dougs Headers) are a perfect fit and are known not to have leaks around the gaskets and they stay that way unlike some other brands. With some items the extra cost is worth it in the long run. (Evo, is Ohio in the "rust belt"?)

I went to my engine builder for that conversation a few years back. I love the GM Crate ZZ383 he sold me instead. How'd it work out for you?

    Summit X or H pipe

I've used X pipes on a number of cars, they clean up the sound most people don't like (to much burble, popping). They can also quite the car a somewhat. I run one on the LS6 Cadillac with stainless Magnaflows, it sounds fantastic. I don't have one on my Vette currently, I like it sounds...

    ZZ383?

^^ And a third reason. So the first time you bang your headers on a speed bump, there's a dimple. Chrome and Nickel baby, chrome and nickel.

    ZZ383?

The ZZ383 doesn't come with all the goodies that the ZZ4 has, so no intake... ZZ4 vs. ZZ383 makes the ZZ4 a much better value (I paid extra for snake oil) About the coated headers, I have yet to read an independent report of RWHP for stock exhaust manifolds, then RWHP for a set of headers...

    ZZ383?

Farmer, Intake is GM12486570 (I got that off the manifold), it's an aluminum dual plane so it would fit cleanly under the L48 hood. The original cast iron manifolds rob horsepower. Headers are Thorley, I didn't use the wrapped or coated for a few reasons, the HP gain is apparently minimal on...

To Header or not to Header that is the Question !!
