Bob,
If you have had everything electical checked, did you have the ignition timing checked, it is possible if the timing is off to give these sort of hard start conditions. Worth checking if all else fails.

Hi Bob,
Hydraulicing (can't spell it either) is usually refered to when there is water or possibly oil in the cylinders. It will be difficult to turn the engine over by hand but not impossible if you can get something onto the front pulley bolt. Usually to easily turn it over by hand you would...
Before my ex got her claws into me i had a look at this for my Vette. For a 671 style blower complete with carbs and all the bits needed was about £4k Sterling and i would have put the old iron heads back on, an alternative was one of those low profile single carb blowers from Holley which would...
It might have a limited effect but there will still be buyers for these high performance cars, be they ZO6's or whatever. Petrol prices in the UK are way higher and you still see plenty of big cars and SUV's driving around although the trend is to much smaller cars and in paticular diesel...
I ran mine for a while on stright though pipes but was also tempted to run it on open headers a couple of times, nieghbours were not impressed ;LOL
Check it out...
nice motor but at nearly $100k :crazy could be a hard sell. Think I will stick with my C3 and the hookers and keep the change for gas ;)

I bought mine from a small specialist dealer in Birmingham, England. At the time this guy only sold C4's and as I had previously had an 80 originally went to buy a C4 vert he had advertised but when I turned up I noticed "My 81" sitting in the corner of his shop, the guy said he had taken it in...
I do know it has a habit of bursting into flames depending on how pure the alloy is that is being machined, i have seen a couple of our workshop lathes go up in flames.
Can't open the files on my daughters laptop and for some reason it wont let me download a pdf reader, is there any other way...
I have one fitted to my Vette, it was on the car when I bought it although it is used as a "fog light" rather than a third brake light. All UK cars have to have on fitted and this is a neat solution. It fits perfectly and I don't mind the look of either.

I have had a left rear go on me at about 85mph on a VW that I owned, fortunately on a fairly wide straight road and i was able to pull up safely, I can tell you it was a scary moment.
I would never even consided driving on old tyres now. In the UK cars over three years old must pass an yearly...
Hi Ant
Nice to see another Brit on the forum. Welcome
My main question is why bother with all the hassle, the way things are going it's heading for $2 to a £1 (one Bush policy that is doing us a favour) why not buy a new one. Plenty of reputable dealers that will ship directly to you from the...
How much is your life worth
Or in some cases other people who are inoccently involved in accidents. There was another thread about this which promted me to do some reading.
Here are various links and a copy of the main page from one site.

Unfortunately there are several things that will make the C6 a hard sell in the UK and Europe. Nothing wrong with the Vette but you have to get it into perspective. The steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car for the UK, not such a problem once you get used to it but it is very scary for...
As Ken said an engine is not much more than a big pump, air and fuel in and gasses out. I read recently that 4 valve per cylinders can cover as much as 20% more area than 2 valves, The overhead cams act more directly on the valves allowing a higher engine speed and hence more reliable power, add...
I had an 80 4 speed with a mild comp cam in it, i just bought some new neddles for the secondery barrels of the quadrajet, a few pounds and 5 minutes to fit and a big difference under WOT. I am sure any parts shop will get you the right ones.

I saw a similar report on UK tv saying that old tyres were a big factor in accidents especially on motorways where higher speeds were being used. Apparently one problem was when people needed new tyres they sometimes saved the money and used the old spare. Don't quote me on this but I think they...
I found the dyno chart on the site interesting, the difference between the 100 octane intercooled and none intercooled engines. Nice cool air = Hp :) in this case fresh cool air was worth over 100Hp.

Don`t know about the rear end but the engine is definately not in the middle of the chassis. It is offset by about 2" to clear the steering on the drivers side so I wouldn`t be surprised if the rear end was not dead center.
Have a look at the head on pic on my site and you will see the scoop...
