You resort to playing Corvette on your kids PS2 just so you can drive your car....sigh.....
Well, at least I'm only a couple of weeks away from it coming back :happyanim:
The fans came on in my '84 as well....my wife's Cutlass does the same thing. I think it's pretty much a standard occurence.
You did follow the proper steps like putting the jumper in with the key off? Is the SES light lit when you turn on the ignition? Did you get the code 12 3 times?

Legacy of the '84 Corvette
Sorry to drag this thread up again, but I couldn't resist...:D
The 1984 Corvette was an innovator in many ways; first to have rack and pinion steering, first to have a plastic spring instead of coils and first to have an all digital dash display among other firsts...
No idea right now where the .047 was found but I'll be sure to find out on Friday...that's the turnaround time from the machine shop that they sent the crank to.

Is 47 even possible?...I think there's a new crankshaft in...

could this be a...
I didn't see it, but lot 85 caught my eye (one of the 1989 ZR1's) and it went for $55,000 with a "Salvage" title...All I could think was wow...lot 643 was a 1984 Corvette with 10,700 miles on it; that went for 20,900. I can't wait for the Vegas in September
Have you disconnected the battery at all after the horns started sounding?...if not, open the drivers door with the key and it should stop the horns. The security light should be flashing before arming it with the lock button and be solidly lit when the system is armed.
Hope that helps you....
