    C4 vs C5 performance

A friend of mine owns a 2000 and compared to my '84, there's no comparison. That baby is technologically light years away and ahead of the C4.... But there's still nothing like the C4 in it's time.:beer

    Another mystery solved

I've got one coming this week, but with the pending engine work, I think it might be wise to hold off on installing it.

Check engine light on, but no codes stored

Solved....missing low coolant sensor on radiator. Funny, no mention of a 3rd sensor in the FSM......:hb

    Another mystery solved

My L83 had CES light on since I got it, the ECM stored no codes and the coolant temp analog gauge never worked....until the other day. There was a mysterious green wire running by the radiator. It was obvious that there was a sensor missing a connector but I couldn't find one visually or by...

RTV removal, new oil pump and....

That's why I left it at the garage last night....I really wanted to drive it on my birthday today. We never took the shop up on its offer of fixing it and there's a call in to see if the offer is still open. If they do the bottom end at another location, I'm good with it. The only problem is...

RTV removal, new oil pump and....

I'm amazed (and so is everyone else for that matter) that I've kept my cool about it...but I have to remember that I didn't deal with the shop, my son did and the car was a gift. If I were to get into it with them at this juncture, it would be a waste of talk time ;) UPDATE: lower oil...

RTV removal, new oil pump and....

Hopefully pictures tonight when I get home....I have to get them sent from my son's iPhone. :CRASH We're looking at the filter end of things for more trash and finishing the EGR and THERMAC stuff I noticed; it might smooth things out ;)

Check engine light on, but no codes stored

bump...back on topic; The FSM doesn't show a SES light troubleshooting flowchart on this...anyone have any ideas or knowledge on this?

RTV removal, new oil pump and....

I pulled out a compete square of RTV in the shape of an intake port...sigh...got more pics and I'll post them soon. The analysis of the oil came back and saw no trace of abrasive material in the sample, so I agree with your assessment of it boomdriver; a case of oil starvation. I noticed a...

Check engine light on, but no codes stored

It flashed 3X code 12 and then just flashed code 12 after that. As far as the engine rebuild goes, it's in litigation now...got a high profile lawyer on the case now. My son and I dropped the pan, pulled a HANDFUL of RTV from the pickup tube and screen, installed as new oil pump, ran an engine...

Check engine light on, but no codes stored

Now that the car is back on the road again, I've had a chance to get to a few minor things, but this is a puzzler...the check engine light is on constantly. I tried to pull the codes, and got a code 12 with the terminals jumped, but there aren't any stored....what a time I had finding the ASDL...

    The money pit

I believe that the engine is ready for a overhaul, but my impatient self says that I needed to be driving it...but, hear this one out.... So we cleaned up the mess, installed the new oil pump and put it all back together again. We stood there after it was all done debating if it was alright to...

    The money pit

The oil never got changed...nor did the filter. The car had about 500 miles from the repair shop in Vegas to the time it arrived in my hands here in Arizona. I got upset with the attitude of the H. P. wrench my son suggested (another story in itself....it's great to be independent), so I had...
