    '86 rear bushings help

Would not hurt to check your U-joints given age and mileage. Any one of your 6 could cause a clunk sound. The suggestion Hib gives you is a good one as well. Since you have access to a lift, you may want to consider starting and stopping the car as you drive it in the air. This should help...

    Serp. Belt Issue

Even though this is an old thread, I'll follow up with what I did. The new belt and tensioner held if in place for about a year. Then one day out of nowhere it shredded itself again. I decided to bite the bullet and do the TSB for converting to a single sided setup. I got the USED smooth...

    I'm getting hooked on Auto-x...

Holy Thread revival Batman!!! Yeah, I know my Corvette is WAY faster than my car. The plan is to leave it very stock for now until I catch up with the car. I'm WAY behind. For the time being I'm going to lock in alignment similar to the one Hib suggest for auto-x/street use. This is NOT a...

    Muffler Eliminators a good idea?

Have any of heard the Chambered Exhausts that Corvette Central sells? I did find a youtube clip of one at one time. Had a deeper tone to it and kinda sounded like an old hot rod w/glass packs, that still had the glass in them. I like the sound of the Corsa system but $$$.

    Muffler Eliminators a good idea?

NO hate mail from me Hib, yes they drone some, my X-pipe helped with that, some. Still drone but I don't really care or notice, with the windows down. Windows up, yes they drone. Its a personal choice and one I accept as I like the noise, most of the time, I agree that if I took long trips ear...

    Muffler Eliminators a good idea?

So what is the problem with the crackle on over run when the throttle is lifted??? I've had mine on for over two years, LOVE THEM. I run with the windows down/top off on the highway so it does not bother me. I ALWAYS get positive comments on how the car sounds never heard a bad one yet. I...

    Muffler Eliminators a good idea?

There is no negative side effects from them, N/A engines needing back pressure is a myth. I love mine, very cheap way to get sound. I added a X-pipe so it helped with the popping and crackling on deceleration. I do not find them too loud at all, pretty sudate at below 2K. Above that she makes...

    Question: Obd 1 scanner

Indeed, contrary to popular belief that the scan tool "tells you" what is wrong. HAHAHAHA, its a tool like any other, only as good as the user or your Service Manual..... Nissan's Consult 3 has a live engine data function that displays the current reading versus what it should be. Yeah, the...

    Question: Obd 1 scanner

Long story short, not only codes but LIVE engine data. Big help when diagnosing engine problems if you know what one is looking at.

Rough Ride in my 93 with SRC at any Selection.

If those tires sat for 6 years, how old are they? For safety sake park the car until you can afford new tires. It is not worth it. You can get a set of 4 for about 600 or maybe a bit less from tirerack.com. Nothing special at that price but WAY better than what you got. If the SRC light is not...

    You Have Really Gotta Be Sh . . . . . . Me!!

Yup, and it is probably worth every penny. I don't think he is really trying to sell it, just a feeler and trying to attract attention to the car. That ZR1 is truly rare and has quite the story.

    carlift for engine removal

Ok, just curious, mostly a 20 year freshening. I'd check out your PCV system for good operation while your at it. That way you help to make sure it does not leak oil in the future.

    Service ASR light

If the sensor was faulty (reading low for no reason) the RED brake light SHOULD be on as well, at least one would think so. Weatherman, based on what you said, sounds like a ASR only problem. Code 28 is not necessarily a bad wheel speed sensor but it could be. The 93 FSM calls it a Wheel Speed...

Help! Can I put 275/40-17 tires on the front of my 1995 corvette without modifying anything?

Good call, I said that thinking about my car, I have A-Mold replicas at all four so I can rotate. You could still go front to rear with the SawBlades as long as they are 9.5 front and rear. Pending you have two lefts and two rights.

    carlift for engine removal

I know the concrete needs to be a certain PSI and at least 4 inch. thick. Why are you pulling a LT5? Safety first.

LT5 Durability, how are they holding up after 16 to 21 years?

Yeah for real, 200hrs for the 90-92 engines peak torque to peak HP, 400 for the 93-95. I learned the other day that the Nissan GT-R engine is dynoed and this includes a 10 minute redline run....:eyerole Granted the GT-R is a pretty fast car but not fast and DURABLE.

Help! Can I put 275/40-17 tires on the front of my 1995 corvette without modifying anything?

My 93 HAD a 255 Front/285 Rear setup like your 95. I went to 275 all the way around so I can rotate the tires. The C4's do handle better with the sqaure setup of 275's on all fours, you need the 9.5inch wide wheels however. I did not notice a huge difference in handling or any noticeable...

    Service ASR light

The ASR is not ECM controlled. The ASR/ABS is self controlled but it does give inputs and receives data from the ECM. However, if you ASR light is on you will not find codes in the ECM for the ASR. It is a separate system. Any codes like a throttle position code or quad driver code are NOT for...

LT5 Durability, how are they holding up after 16 to 21 years?

Sounds good. I've began an informal search for Z07 parts myself. Auto-x gets addicting, granted base suspension w/FX3 is still faster than I am. I think in SCCA B-Stock the C4 has a LOT of speed potential. My most recent auto-x was only my 4th but I was only about 3.5sec. behind the B Stock...
