I can chime in with some info on dryer sheets. Plain and simple, they don't work. Last year I went to check on my vette shortly after putting it into storage. My dryer sheets were still "fresh" yet the beginnings of a nest was evident on my new LLoyds trunk matt (right beside a dryer sheet)...

I removed the entire assembly. It wasn't that difficult to do. Remember, if your's is a '99, you shouldn't need the glue. Just replace the gasket on the gear access port and tighten the three small bolts.

I replaced my passenger side gear this past summer. There are some great how-to's out there, some with pictures. Just Google it. It took me about two hours to replace it and honestly, it was a breeze. Just make sure to purchase the metal replacement gear so you don't have to do it again. I...
