You didn't say what type of tire you already have on your '90. Do you have 285 tires all around right now? The '90 (except the ZR1) came with 17x9.5 wheels and 275/40/17 tires. So, you might want to use the 275 tire instead of the 285. TireRack seems to have plenty of 275 tires available.

Shades of Corvette and XLR production - sounds like GM is going to add a second line at Bowling Green for mid-engine Corvette and Cadillac cars along side the current front engine C7. It that happens, they plan on mid-engine Vettes and Caddy's to be low production halo cars.
