T-Tops and center caps for sale

Driver’s side top is in very good condition and has no issues. The passenger side top’s glass; frame and seal are in very good condition however the glass has delaminated from the frame in the front left corner. The delaminating is approximately 4 inches in length and causes the top to site high...

    Question: 82 CE gasket replacement

I just finished the last pieces of mine yesterday, the "side window vertical strips" and I can tell you everything that's already said is completely accurate! I'd suggest you don't pull everything off at once. Break the project up. Do the tops, or the doors, maybe one side or the other, but I...

Question: tire sizes on a 79

I know on the 81's the 255's were an optional size from the factory, therefore "stock". Just out of curiousity, why are you planning on going to the smaller tires? I've run those before and the 255's seem much better suited for the car...

    You're views on a electric-powered Corvette?

Nope. Not for me thanks. I understand why it might be a good thing for the environment, and why it might make sense when fuel prices go back up, but at the end of the day, I don't want to take the soul out of my car. Besides how many of us have corvettes cause they get great mileage...

    wtb 81 t-top

I have a set of Bronze tops I'll sell. Unfortunately the passanger side glass has delaminated from the frame. I'm told you can have them re-bonded though. I tried to upload pics, but got some security token missing failure. If interested, send me your email and I'll send pics that way...

Minifridge, maybe I can help you feel alittle better,.....I'm in Baghdad, so Christmas this year will have to wait a bit....but...I've asked for true dual exhaust and a 700r4 trans.... :)

    1981 Covette carb issue

Yep, someone removed it. Stock 81's had it in place.

Replaced ECM but still have problems Please Help!

Have you checked the O2 sensor? Sometimes those get fouled or the connections get crispy. It's on the drivers side exhaust just below the manifold.

Cris, got you message, thanks. Have you got time tomorrow afternoon to get together? I got the balancer on my car and the belts lined up, but it's always good to see another great 81! I'm in Foxmeadow off of Old Jennings, so not too far at all.

    pushrod diameter

Actually, there were three sizes of push rods used in big blocks. 3/8, 5/16 and 7/16. I believe the 5/16 was stock for 1972. 1967 did use 3/8 rods so if the guide plates are correct for those heads, you should be okay with 3/8 rods. But hey, if you have to buy new rods anyway, maybe the 7/16...

    81 vette door problems

Can you pull the manual lock on the driver's door at all, or use the electric lockf from the passanger side? Sorry to be obvious, but you never know. If not, you may have to pull the door panel from inside the car. I've not done that before, but in looking at mine, I think it can be done...

ramps, jacks and not getting crushed

I typically pop the doors to the first catch, then use a floor jack just behind the front or just in front of the rear tires. I did notice that whenever I do that it doesn't take much for both tires on the side I'm working on to come off the ground. What I've done is bring one side of the car...

What are you guys running for timing?

Your balancer should only have a line on it. The pointer attached to the timing cover has the marks on it. The increments are all even so it should be relatively easy to see where you are....

Question: tire sizes on a 79

I don't belive there's room in the wheel wells of an 81 to allow 275/60's in them and still allow space for turning, or hitting any kind of bump in the road. I don't think the 79 is that much different. If you do go that route and they fit well, it would be great to see some pics posted! By...

Question: tire sizes on a 79

I run 255/60/15's all the way around my 81. They fill up the wheel wells and don't rub (that size was an option for the car) and I like the way the feel on the road.
