You may want to watch the video(s) I posted on harmonic balancer r&r (click below). Good luck, it's a pretty big job (pulling the rack etc.) Do NOT replace with a GM balancer, as you already know they are less than stellar. :)

I am just about ready to buy a used c6z but all your issues are making me think twice. My LS6 motor is 100% solid at 55k miles (with one exception - the balancer replacement). I have a video on my YT channel if anyone cares to view. Is there any particular model year of C6Z that is better...

Did you put the 3rd filter on at about 15000, so your filter interval is about 7500? Did you inspect (cut open) the filters to see if they could have gone longer?
