Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

Sorry for the news, starting to sound like the lemon 2007 328i Coupe I had, but you've got a way to go. Keep us posted. Not to be negative, but I have never had a Vette repaired at a dealer (or for that matter independent) where they haven't either caused collateral damage (which I would...

    Lowering my C5

You should always put a jack under the front spring (pad it, I use a wood block) and take some pressure off the bolt b4 you try turning it, also use some penetrating oil. The pads on the bolts need to move on the lower control arms. I use the whitish T1 pads, there are others, delrin etc. Put...

    LT4 High Mile LT4 Value

I would just be nice & check in with him once a month or so. Stay with 5k but when he's really ready maybe 5.5k or if you really have to have it 6 but you WILL be putting some $$$ into it. :) I sold my LT4 with 60k miles about 5 yr ago for 16k. Guess that was ok.

    LT4 High Mile LT4 Value

Be careful if it's been sitting. I bought a 96 LT4 that eventually developed pin hole leaks in the gas tank, it's metal with plastic liner. The whole thing was about $2500 to replace. This is rare but can happen. :) I'd get a c5 with lower miles (I know you had one bad one but there are other...

Question: How difficult is removing & reinstalling the front console& radio bezel ?

There is a picture of the console removed & the automatic shifter still installed, so it MAY be able to stay in place. I have a stick so I really have no experience taking apart an automatic. :)

    No problem :)

    Question: Tie rod ends

Stock or moog, stay away from Baer, I got their bump steer kit & the rod end included was junk, the rest of the kit was good.

I pick up "clag" on the track (on my tires or inside the rim) that's weighs more than that difference, never notice it. You must have a fine tuned butt. :D

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

Thanks for the update. Very interesting. You did not by chance weigh the lock nut vs. the stock? Being so close to the central axis I am a little surprised. McGard should put an asterick on the package when they sell just the 4 lockers or at least a web page with a FAQ noting the possibility of...

    Jacking pads...

Thanks, some are better than others, just trying to help the "folks" as O'Reilly says.

    Jacking pads...

I have the short ones on the right, work fine. the thicker ones will make it hard to get some jacks under. I know you can drive up on a bit of wood, but's that's an extra step. I like it simple. I made some of wood and of pucks they both eventually cracked. The alum will not hurt the frame. :)

Ford Shows its Distaste for the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray

I would guess the Vette got pushed sidways on the wet pavement which would somewhat lessen the damage, still can take a hit. :)

    Line-x the Frame?

Not if you care about what the car weighs. :)

    I need help!!

Just for a bit of info, I recently traded a car in on a used 2012 Lexus & had to pay FULL sales tax on the 2012 (Kalifornia). No breaks here.
